The one big force which we all believe is god ,or rather we all fear to defy his/her/its supremacy over other things .Most of us are not atheists ,and we do not question the existence of the so called master of the universe. I don’t know exactly why all humans don’t want to think beyond his/her supremacy, but I guess it’s because we all fear that the god would not pardon us if we all try to do so. There is a subtle fear amongst all of us, that if at all we try to question the supremacy of god, he may loose his temper and shower all his extra natural powers upon us. Many of us go to the temple, sing prayers, lie flat on the ground possibly to ask for comforts in life, hoping that the prevailing peace should prevail forever, and to ward off all evils. But I fail to understand that if god created universe then isn’t his responsibility that all his creations are not suffering, unless he is a villain. I also fail to understand that if god is omnipresent ,then why need arises for us to go to temples/mosques etc.And if he is knowledgeable ,then why is there a need for us to beg in front of him, I mean he would take care of all such needs on his own. I see many good men and women suffering, then isn’t it the responsibility of god they they shouldn’t remain like this? Is the god being selective or is he biased in showering the good will only on some of his creations? Some people say that they are suffering because of all the sins done in their previous lives. Then why did this god allowed them to commit those sins in their so called previous lives? Is he just playing a video game for the sake of fun, the so called eeshwar kee maaya?

ok to begin with I have no idea what the eeshwar kee maaya is or does?
2nd. Suffering. God allows people do to do their own thing. This is called free will. If God were to stop every little bad thing from happening - then we'd turn around and complian that He was interfering in our lives.
3rd. God is omnipresent. And the only NEED for going to church and stuff is fellowship with other believers and also to hear the teaching of the Lord. (think of it as going to school so you can learn from someone else who has studied the subject) ok, if you were going down the road and a drunk driver rearended you - is that God's fault - or do you want HIM to stop you from being hurt? We kick him out of school, we take His name out of the Pledge of Allegience, and there is a petition to take "IN God WE Trust" off our money and then we Still expect Him to be there for us.
4. Fearing God is Fearing what he can do. Yes you are correct there. But think of it this way. I love my husband to pieces. He is so kind and has the more patience than I could ever DREAM of having. BUT at the same time, when he's had enough, that's enough. Once he starts to get mad, I KNOW to back off! And I'm not afraid that he is going to hit me or strike me dead or kick me out of the house. I simply don't like making him mad at me.
The same with God. I don't like making Him upset with me. I'm not afraid that He is going to strike me dead or send me to hell or anything else. Becasue I am a Christian and believe in Him and that He died for us and I have and do confess my sins on a daily basis, but I don't like the idea of His being upset with me for any reason. I love God with my entire being and don't WANT to do anything that makes him upset with me.
5. At some point or other, I think we all question God's exsisitence. I know I have before and He didn't strike me dead. God knows your heart. He knows if it's going to be a fleeting thing or if it's a constant such as
Athesists have.
6. If only Believers were healthy then all people would become belivers out of necessity. God doens't want that. He wants us to love Him and worship HIM out of faith. We walk by faith not by sight.
7. Who begs God? I don't. I pray to God for things but I don't beg. If it is Gods will - it will happen. I've wondered about this before too sicne the Bible says that He knows what we have need of before we ask. All I really know for sure it that God commands us to pray for one another. That's all I can tell you there. He just wants us to pray. I don't even understand why - except this is will.

Absolutely yes, there is God and He is the One True God.
But who am I to give an authoritative and convincing answer to this most important question?
This is how I think:
Christ has taught about the One True God and made innumerable saints (perfect men in all aspects). These men cannot be compared to Christ and Christ cannot be compared to God. Otherwise God is no longer the One True God.
Muhammad accomplished the same victory for the last thirteen centuries.
For already more than one and a half centuries, Baha'u'llah has successively and progressively revealed over a hundred Holy Books teaching again about the One True God and giving mankind a Divine Plan to build a world civilization for the coming Golden Age.
Please rethink.
Please read Their authentic Holy Books by yourself.
Then put more concrete questions on the Internet, I wish you will get new and inspirational answers.
Perhaps you have not known much about Baha'u'llah, the most recent Manifestation of God. You can download His Most Holy Book (the Kitab-i-Aqdas) at the Gutenberg Project or learn more about Him at http://bahai.org
You can also start your journey towards God by approaching any Baha'i Centers in your country or in any other countries.
Please rethink and act promptly.

Good question. Sincere and honest beliefs. You are obviously a Hindu by religion. I will explain to you from a Christian point of view because I am a Christian.
God created Man in His own image. Male and Female He created them. That's what the Bible says. It also says, that man has to live this life and face death at the end. After death, judgement for their actions done in life.
You ask why all this misery? Perfectly normal. Any sane person would ask the same thing. God created man so that mankind will stay with God and enjoy His company. But He gave them freewill and freedom of choice. He didn't create human beings like mechanical robots, obeying the supreme commander's wishes. Because of the inherent nature of man, sin and evil entered and spoilt the fellowship God wanted to have with man. Naturally, God has to punish the evil. That's why all the pain and suffering. But with the pain, He also created a way of escape for them. He sent His Son Jesus into the world so that through Him, all mankind would get back into fellowship with God the Father and ultimately, get back to Heaven. Its a big theological subject. Cannot be dealt completely in a forum like this. My email is available on my profile. If you are sincerely interested in learning more, please get in touch with me. God bless you.

Religion is based on myths. Just because something is written in a book does not mean it is true.
What is god doing at this very moment in time? Is he so busy that he cannot stop the war in Lebanon? Iraq? Cannot he not take time out of his busy schedule to feed the world's starving people? If jesus could turn water into wine (and was that so important that he had to do it?), then why do people starve now? Why is there so much greed in the world (Enron, etc.)?
So, if there is a god, he has totally lost interest in his planet and his people, and he is quite content to let the place burn up.
People need to stop believing in superstitions !!

O.k. I guess I'm going to be the "metaphor queen" today. God is like a security blanket. However irrational some people see it to that person the world revolves around it. They need it to feel safe from what they don't understand. Or you can think of God in a medical term, much like a placebo pill. It works for some people, and others need the real thing.

The confusion that you are having in understanding is simply because, to view god as a being outside of ourselves is an illusion, a misguided teaching. In my terms, Spirit, source, or a higher part of ourselves is neutral, it is the energy called love. In each person's own thoughts, words, and actions, they direct this energy to create their experience. So it is important that we choose our words, thoughts, and actions carefully. Fear is not necessary, all here in the physical is just experience.

There is a god wether people admit it or not. We choose the challenges in our lives in order to help others with similar situations to overcome them. We are here to achieve certain goals for the betterment of our souls and those of fellow human beings. It's all about love and support of others. God shouldn't be feared, he is all love and does not judge us. We ourselves are the judge.

There is a way which seems right unto man, but in the end it leads to death.

god lost his super-powers when benjamin franklin proved that the "wrath of god" (lightning bolts) was merely electricity...
Before he did it, I understand perfectly well why people would believe in god... but after? Well, I supose it only means they're not educated.
