INGREDIENTS:
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.

Strawberry Pie

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup strawberry gelatin powder
2 drops red food coloring, optional
1 1/2 quarts strawberries, sliced (reserve a few for garnish)
1 pie shell, baked, 9-inch
whipped cream or topping

PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened and clear, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice, gelatin powder, and food coloring if used.
Chill until mixture begins to thicken. Place strawberries in the baked pie shell and spoon slightly thickened gelatin mixture over the top. Chill the pie at least 4 hours, then top with whipped cream or whipped topping and garnish with reserved strawberry halves.

My mom use to make the most delicious Strawberry and Rubarb pie that you could ever eat....yuuuummmm!!! But, I don't know how she did it..sorry. Why don't you go on website and get recipies. Just type in food or pie or strawberries. You'll find something.
