Why is it that whenever a Pagan is mentioned, they get slated for it on this forum, or get somebody lecturing them and trying to convert them.
We are NOT bad people, and we do not sacrifice goats and kill babies! Instead, we care just as much about our world as you do, and the people in it. When we dedicate ourselves, usually we make a vow to help people around us. Does this really sound like a 'devil worshipper'? (Actually, many Pagans don't even believe in Satan or the devil because these are Christian inventions and have nothing to do with us.)
Pagans, Christians, and other religious people have a lot in common. We ALL get insulted by a minority of people for our beliefs, so why can't we all stick together?
If you don't dislike Pagans, then don't worry, I'm not having a go at you, and there's no need to get involved in this, but if you do, then please could you give me a good reason why? And if you are Pagan, then please could you share your views on this subject? Thank you! ;-)

People hate other people for being different. They don't have all the facts, and in some cases they've been lied to by people they trust. I see equal opportunity hate on this site and most other places for that matter. It can be a different religion, race, sex, etc. What this is really about is individuals. We can lump people into stereotypical categories and say, "All _______ do this." It's simply not true.
I'm a Pagan, but was raised Christian. I'm sure you and I have things in common, and we have things that we do or think about differently. I have no problem with someone being different than I am. Wanting everyone in the world to be just like you is very narrow-minded. As I often think on this subject, we all have many paths that lead us side-by-side in a similar direction. You can't prove one way is right and the other is wrong, so just find what is best for you.
If others want to judge and hate, that's their problem. I stand strong in knowing that I don't know everything. And that's fine with me.

Exactly how I feel.
But no matter what, they(not all, just most) won't be able to give you a reasonable answer. Every single time I've asked this, Christians have come to me and STARTED giving me a good answer, and then ruined it by telling me that I just don't understand the 'real' God and 'His' mighty wrath. That us Pagans are on the right start, but will have to convert someday if we want to achieve a real sense of the Divine.
It's a very 'Aww, what a cute little kid *pat on the head*' sort of mentality. We know a little, but it's sweetly and naively childish compared to 'reality', in their minds.
So I don't think you'll find any good answers here. But I understand what your thinking, and it saddens me that we can't all just get along. Hopefully someday we can all respect (or at least, stand) each other!

I don't know about goats and babies, but our old tenants used to sacrifice chickens. It was against the neighborhood code... That was really the least of the code problems, though; these were seriously loud, inconsiderate, constantly partying bad neighbors who never cleaned up after their ferrets and let them destroy our furniture and fill it with half-eaten hot dogs. They were also drug dealers, which why we got to learn so much about their pagan religion (Golden Dawn) and their chicken sacrifices - 'cause they left all their crap in their hurry to leave...on the run from the police.
The point is... seems like awful, scummy felons might tend toward Pagan faiths just because they're different, and then these couple of rebelling bad people are so generally obnoxious that everybody in two blocks knows about them, and connects this image with pagan religion. And then it's reinforced, every time the bad folks are irritating.
Also - never trust your house to Windemere.

As far as I know, some or many Christians love to brand all other religions as Pagans and classified non Jehovah-Jesus deities as devils/Satan sort of things. Of course that is simply a bu*ll*sh*it and mo*ron thinking.
First thing first, how do you define Pagans? is it shamanism? voodoo? satanism? druid? necromancy?
Any official religion has virtuos deities, philosophy, bright regulations, paradisical realms...everything has to be at least celestial base standards. You can refer to Buddhism(beyond heaven), Taoism(likely beyond heaven too), Hinduism, Christian, Islam.
Anything lesser than that, I recommend you upgrade. Choosing a lesser being as 'lord' or 'idol', even it is virtuos, it cannot go far itself, how would it lead you to a higher level? Buddhism and Taoism are the most tolerancive religions I know. Tantra Buddhism can even include Hindu gods as family members, impressive?

I'm pagan.
I dislike christianity, not all christians though. Simply because of their hypocritical belief systems and the fact 99% of their doctrine was taken from other religions.

I see each and each man or woman as my brother or sister. in spite of the type you look at it, we are all equivalent. all of us do our terrific to stay a happy life, and die. What i decide for to confirm is human beings working jointly instead of attempting to fly solo. My resourceful and prescient isn't of a pair misfits banding jointly to have some help conferences. No no no, i decide for to start a international flow. The Pagan-Christian conflict is one I see and manage on a daily basis, so it became the main ordinary place to start. i think that if all of us stand good jointly that we are in a position to alter the international. Now, might you be so style as to drink this fruit punch~~<3 as quickly as we are in a position to establish the preliminary alliance, we are in a position to start inviting all others who proportion the comparable hopes and targets. everybody who needs a brighter destiny for the generations to return.
