guess not. not for me. the shell protects the prawns from the fire, from being burnt. it helps to keep the juices inside too.

the answer is yes and here is how to go about it
Preparation
Wash the prawns, leaving the skin and head intact and placing them on a glass of ceramic tray.
Place the lemon herb, onions, chilies, garlic, ginger and shrimp paste in a blender or food processor and blend until it’s a smooth mix.
Place the preparation over the prawns, mix, and cover; let it marinate for 3-4 hours in the fridge.
Heat the barbecue to high temperature.
Drain the prawns, place on grill and cook, turning over various times for 5 minute or until they change color. Serve immediately.
invite me afterwords yummy!!! and thanks

I would say, shell off, tails left on. Stick a skewer through five or six so you can turn them all at once and don't lose them through the bars. Maybe brush with a little oil so they don't stick, and you could use a nice marinade!
I do them for my hubbie but I hate prawns! They scare me a bit when the have all their legs on still. Like beetles... urgh!

Don't think it matters as long as it stays on the kebab stick.
Unlike my boyfs dad though, make sure you take off the shells before you eat them. He actually said "umm, nice crispy prawns", and when my boyf said you're meant to take the shells off, his response was "I think you'll find you're not "! He's still alive too!
- the motto to the story is, 'if it won't kill you, eat it'

Yes, shell them but leave the heads and tail on. Remove the vein.
Then marinade or leave as they are.
A good tip if barbecueing.
Put foil on the barby first... When cooked just throw the foil away and your Barby is spotless

No, leave shell on until cooked. Gordon Ramsay recommends cutting through centre of shell back with scissors to remove vein, then cooking with shell on

I don't. I leave the shells on when I barbecue them, and then peel them afterwards.
