It's a difficult question to answer because "fastest growing" isn't a very concrete statistical category. For example, if I started a tiny cult last year with just myself and one other member, and by this year eighteen people had joined, then that religion has grown 900%, which would make it appear to be faster growing than Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, or any other major religion on Earth. If "fastest growing" refers to percentage growth, then the newest, smallest religions--many of which none of us will ever hear of--are necessarily the fastest growing. On the other hand, if "fastest growing" refers to the raw number of new adherents, then only the very largest religions, like Islam or Christianity, could possibly be considered.

As a general rule, among the very large religions (say, the biggest 12 by number of adherents), the proselytizing religions such as Christianity and Islam (as opposed to non-proselytizing religions such as Buddhism and Judaism) have a natural advantage in growth of numbers.

Islam. Although Christianity had a 600 year head start, but still Islam has almost caught up - In a few years it will supersede Christianity because Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

P.S. No Muslim nation forces ppl into Islam. In pakistan there are christians, hindus, pagans etc. In lebanon 40% of the ppl are christians. Quran says "There is no compulsion in religion"

P.S. Islam is the fastest growing religion population growth wise as well as conversion wise. How could a religion which started 600 yrs after christianity, spread all over the world and match the number of christianity in just 1400 years by birth rate alone? By birth rate alone each muslim couple would have to have at least a dozen kids to reach the number !

Note: If Islam spread by point of sword then tell me which muslim army went to Indonesia to spread Islam ? Which muslims army went to malaysia to spread islam ?? Quran says "there is no compulsion in religion' Islam is spreading with the sword of the intellect !!

of course islam

you can check the studies and the numbers of people who converted to islam especially the last years

read about islam ,read the Quraan ,discuss ,compare and discover why we are here and what will happen there when we will meet God almighty the king ,the one who created all this universe for us - human- then some people refusing to worship him and worship another

islam is the last and the most religion growing and spread in the world if u like it or not if u beleive in or not because it is the truth, because it is logical not by the point of a sword

ask all the westren who converted to islam if they convert by sword or because they felt that is the right path

The Stool-Readers, you make a pile of doodoo and then a priest reads a meaning from them...it's a bit like reading tea leaves I guess...it's overtaking Islam at the moment as the fastest growing religion.

It is really a choice between fundamentlism and mysticism. A Fundamentalist Christian has more in comman with a Fundamentalist Muslim than with a mystic. The fundalmentalist are into control, especially of women, they think they have the corner on what is right and will fight with anyone to defend it. A mystic whether Christian, Muslim (ie Sufi) or out on their own (mystics have a tendency to not join), believe we are all one, any perceieved differences are only a matter of perception, not reality. Both are growing, fundamentalism of all types out of fear, hence the need to control, mystic out the awareness that this fear of the "other" is self created.
The tension of these opposing forces will continue until it is realized that control of anyone other than yourself is an illusion. That's why it never works.

Islam. But Christians still are the majority. There are 3 Christians to every one Muslim worldwide. So I wont be a minority in my life time.

But keep in mind. Several nations force their people to belong to a religion and in modern times it is usually Islam. Since this is not always by choice the numbers might a bit in accurate. There are not any nations which enforce Christianity as the only religion.

If you cant choice your faith, it isn't real.

Not happy about the factual answer.

If only people would take the time to learn the strong points of many religions, they would develop a spiritual foundation far stronger than the limits imposed by a single doctrine.

Is it surely the style of individuals? Is it the share advance? Do you count variety human beings born into that faith or do you propose converts? How do you count variety people who pass from one us of a to a distinctive? replace: Do you fairly no longer understand why your references are not convincing? Your references are just to human beings repeating your declare. a clever reference might modern-day *data* to assist your declare. None of those costs, to illustrate, say whether via "growing to be" you propose in proportion words or absolute words. It basically sounds like a good style of individuals repeating them comparable delusion. How approximately quoting somebody who suggested "Islam is the quickest growing to be faith in view this is growing to be value value X, and Y, the 2nd-quickest faith is barely growing to be at value Z". *That* could be a reference that should persuade somebody.
