Our cat is on my lap whilst I'm typing this. Why does she think she can just jump up, turn aroung, dig her claws in and go to sleep. Walk all over me with no regard to that part of my anatomy that does not like pain and use me for her convenience? Surely we are supposed dominion over animals?

I am so glad there are so many cat lovers out there. It warms my heart, when you get a cat you are a servant for life, they do what they please when they please and you just have to accept it.xx

Hi,

Actually, your cat likes you so much and trusts in you so much, she KNOWS she can jump on you at all times, stretch,
stay,go, an you will know that she loves you just because she does that... The claws part is only a reflex,... she does not CHOOSE where they go or land... Not meant to hurt you... If you don't tell her, she'll never know... You have to tell her 'OUCH" and
tap her claws a little so she will LEARN... Believe me, cats know what pain is... and with time she should be more careful...
My cats were never selfish to me.... One use to gree me every night after work an came to get me at my car, another was
constantly massaging my back for hours, one would hold me by the neck so thight and simply JUMP right in my arms when I asked., and lastly one save my life.... Cats are angels in disguise...

My tom cat does that all the time. I sit on the sofa and he tramples all over me, tramples over my magazine if I'm trying to read and fidgets. He doesn't stay for long, then jumps down. The other day he was up and down about 5 times in about half an hour. He drives me mad!

It is nice though in the winter when it's cold and they're like your furry hot water bottle! They make you feel bad aswell when you have to get up, don't they?

Tell me about it. A neighbour's cat keeps coming into our house. It's as if she has a right. She's not shy and screams her head off til she gets milk. I might add my partner gave her milk first - not me. I can't have the back door open in the warm weather without her coming in and lazing on the settee. If I block her way at the door she hides round the corner til she thinks I'm not looking then tries to dive in. It's funny when she does though because we've got wooden floors and she can't stop herself. Hee Hee

Cat's have that attitude to us, dogs see us as fellow pack members, but cats just look at us as a source of food and comfort. Cats own their humans, humans own their dogs.
