Houses can't jump. The maid, because the mail doesn't come on Sundays, and the twins were born on New Year's Eve and New Year's day.

1. Yep, a house can't jump..
2. not what you think. They arrested the maid, because there's no mail on a sunday. That's the conventional answer. Add to that, the fact that the maid's job is to clean the closet. The Butler said he was doing it. The cook was cooking breakfast before the gardener got back with the vegetables. Both of them sound guilty as well.

The dog was a parachuting dog which parachuted out of a plane or helicopter. Because the dog was "jumping" out of the plane "higher than a house" the neighbor lost his bet.
The butler did it because the butler always does it. Plus, he was cleaning the closet. Why would an innocent clean a closet? And a butler, at that. That had to have been the scene of the murder. The maid was getting the previous day's mail.
One was born on December 31 and the other was born January 1.

The house can't jump at all, so the dog can easily jump higher. If it is a frisbee dog, than it can jump a LOT higher!!

1) because the dog jumped on a trampoline or the dog was on the roof when he jumped therefore he would jump higher than the roof of the house -or- the house can't jump
2) the damn maid! - there is no mail on Sundays

1. the man didn't say what house he could jump higher than.
2. the buttler did it why would he be cleaning the closets any way?
