as a person with tourettes i can tell you it is no joke. It is a horrible condition that makes my life very difficult and puts a lot of restrictions on my lifestyle.

Although i have learnt to control it to a certain level, i still twitch and shout abuse without any control over it.

I understand why people think it is a made up disorder and that people just fake it, i wish it was. It is a complex disorder that i for one, would love to get rid of. But i have to live with it because it is part of me.

Please try and understand that a tourettes sufferer is not someone that wants a laugh or gets a kick out of insulting people. Bear that in mind next time you snigger or point at someone with tourettes, it is embarrising enough without that.

Just look at that individual on Big Brother to realise Tourette is no joke. He has done quite a lot to publicise Tourette in my opinion.

Of course it's not a joke. Just like depression, ADHD, fybromyalgia.... none of these conditions which lack physical evidence are "made-up."

Mozart actually had Tourette's, so say modern neurologists. A true genius, and he sure as heck didn't make it up!
