Enoch was the first person after Adam and Eve to "walk with God" in Genesis, as well as the seventh descendant of Adam. Genesis states that God liked Enoch so much He took him bodily up into heaven - the first time that happened to anyone in the Bible.
The Book of Enoch is about that journey into heaven and what Enoch saw - past, his present and our future. - much of which is our present.
Great knowledge, obvious and hidden, in the Book of Enoch.

Ive read some of the other early writings of the Christian church.... I haven't come across this one.

I've mostly read a lot of the other gospels, like the gospel accoring to phillip and such.
