Id like to ask this 1 question that's been bugging me for some time now this is my first question that I am going to start on Yahoo Answers. Why does everyone or at least most people blame the Mexican for our problems when there is so many cultures here. is it because Mexico is so close to us so that's who we blame first for being here illegally and we have all these problems or should we look at our Government for getting us to this point.

I think that Mexico is being blamed because they are crossing the border unchallenged by the hundreds every day. They are the most visible illegals, and are causing America the most harm.

Of the other illegals here that are not Mexican, most are well educated, are trying to learn our language and culture, they show respect to our country and culture, are adding to our way of life, not bringing it down, and are trying not to be noticed.

The majority of illegals in America are Mexicans. There are illegals from other countries as well, but these are not as prominent as the Mexicans are. However, it is important to note that all this illegal immigration is a direct result of America's legal immigration policies, which allow few avenues for someone to emigrate legally. Either the intending immigrant marries an American Citizen or has a million dollars, otherwise, he or she could be waiting half his or her life in order to qualify just for a visa. The green card process can take another 20 years, and by the time the legal immigrant is a Citizen, he or she would probably be in his or her grave!

Yes. This Government has failed extraordinarily in tackling crime on this nation, and it's approximately time they relatively did whatever approximately it. Most of our MPs don't recognize what it's like at the streets due to the fact they not ever are living anyplace close those yob locations. I could mission any of them to are living for per week on those sink estates and study first hand what the natural man or woman has to are living with. The legislation is there to punish wrongdoers, but it surely does not punish them, it really works of their favour. Even in jail they are living extra comforable and are larger fed than plenty of pensioners. How lengthy ought to the persons of this nation have got to look forward to more potent sentencing. The first-class educate robbers had 30 years within for a theft, however you'll break out with five years for homicide now.

The complaint most people have is that Mexicans make no attempt to assimilate. The seem to want the benefits of living here with none of the responsibilities. I have personally met 3rd generation U.S. citizens who not only spoke no English, but couldn't read or write in any language. I have never encountered that in people from Asia or Europe.

The Mexicans tend to make it about themselves by carrying signs saying 'this is our continent' and 'we are in our homeland' and flying their flag above ours. Many of them seem to have not just a feeling of entitlement for what is ours that baffles us, but a very 'in your face' attitude about it. When it comes to culture shock issues, however, it is a fact that the large predominance of Mexicans amongst illegal immigrants does exacerbate culture issues by making more of a single different culture, rather than a melting pot of many cultures with the indigenous culture being predominant.

I agree it is our government who needs to answer to us, however, each individual has free will and takes on the consequences for his own actions.

You are right that a lot of bigots blame Mexicans and don't even make a distinction between Mexicans who are living and working in the US illegally, those here legally, and Mexican Americans who are citizens of the US like any other citizen. You are also right that the reason we have more Mexican illegal aliens is because of proximity, just as the issue in Spain stems from it's proximity to North Africa.

As for looking at our government to find fault, I don't think you can blame the government for people wanting so desperately to come to the US that they lie, cheat, and steal to get here. You could perhaps blame them for not dealing harshly enough with the employers of illegals, or for not dealing harshly enough with the illegals themselves, or for not controlling our borders tightly enough, though we have to remember, our border with Mexico is a friendly one.

As for remembering that our country is based on immigration, absolutely, but you have to remember that it is based on LEGAL immigration. I think very few people who are against illegal immigration are also against legal immigration. I can tell you for sure that I am totally for legal immigration. My husband is not a US citizen and some day, when we decide to live in the US, he will become a legal immigrant. Legal immigration is what has made our country great. Illegal immigration can only harm our country, just as it harms every other country in the world that has the problem. See the UK, France, Spain, Australia. All of these countries have to deal with illegal immigration, and ALL of them are concerned and want to stop it in any way they can. The US is no different in this way. None of these countries are blaming the Mexicans but they ARE blaming their illegals. I think you need to stop pointing the finger at America and Americans and start pointing the finger at those who have not followed LEGAL procedure. That's why they are called illegals. Illegal equals against the law. You can't be for us if you are against us, can you?

Kuta says that the US is to blame because our immigration policies are so difficult to maneuver. What Kuta does not add is that the reason our immigration policies are so limited is directly related to the number of illegal immigrants living in our country. NO country can afford to allow in a lot of immigrants who will not be able to find work and will become an immediate burden to society. NO, NO, NO country can do that which is why NO, NO, NO country does it. A country only let's in immigrants who can show they have a job or a skill that is easily employable, or a spouse or sponsor who can support them if they become indigent. Most legal applicants for immigration, plus most who skipped the legalities and snuck into the country or overstayed their tourist or student visas do not have an easily employable skill. They are UNSKILLED. That wouldn't matter at all if the US was in great need of unskilled laborers. Unfortunately for those who follow the law, all their potential jobs are taken already by those who broke the law and entered the US without permission and are working illegally in the US. If they had waited in line like everyone else, they might have been one of the 20 million to get in legally to fill those jobs and earn a legal wage and have all the rights of a legal resident. But they are too selfish to allow equal chance to everyone. They are too important to wait in line like the others, so they steal those jobs and accept illegal, unfair wages. They hurt themselves by doing this, but they hurt the poor legal applicant even more.

We do look to our government for solutions.

Illegal aliens are a problem, no matter their country of origin. Some people pick up on Mexico simply because they are the most visible.
