Call... Call ...Call
Depends on the coverage. If one car is full coverage and the second is minimum liability I've heard of it being less than the original car.
This is because the insurance is less likely to pay out on the expensive car....
Always call around. When you have been with the company for a year call around again to make sure they are still the best rate. This will save you tons of monies ( unless that isn't important to you)

Usually if you have more than one item is put onto your policy then you will get a better rate but it will always go up some considering there never going to give people a break.
But every insurance company is different when it comes to that. It always depends on your and your husbands driving record age and what else the company is covering for you.
I would contact your agent and ask for a quote and then call some other places and get quotes to see the comparison. This can also be done on the Interent.

Insurance for two or more cars is almost always less, per vehicle, than the cost of one car by itself due to a multi-car discount being applied. The exception is when you add a new, young driver to the policy with the second car... then it goes up up up. But that's the case with every company I know:
Travelers, Chubb, Allstate, State Farm, Fireman's Fund, GEICO, USAA, Progressive, etc.

No claims bonus is the big issue, the first call will be to the insurance company who insures you main car, they may allow some discount

Depends on whose name the first and the second policy is going in, your ages, your no claims bonus etc. Ask your broker for all the options as just because one may not have their own no claims bonus, the ages could make a difference.

Should be similar to what you pay on the first if the 2ND car has similar vehicle value (cost new), minus the multl-car discount (5% -15%).
