living under power lines will not give you cancer, but there are other health concerns. large power lines have several thousand amps traveling through them and thats enough current to generate very intense magnetic fields. it has been proven that humans are not harmed by these fields, however over long periods of time and under constant intense exposure, people have noticed lukemia occurring.
a more immediate and frightening concern is what might happen should a power line break and land on your home. when there are storms or high winds, power line connections break and electrify the ground around them. in some instances, you can be killed instantly if you come within 15 feet of a live line.

Nope. Electromagnetic fields don't have that effect on the cells of your body. However, they can erase your hard drive.

If power lines cause cancer, then so do the magnetic bracelets that people wear for pain and arthritis. The electromagnetic field is the same type of energy.
