Usually, he's go after anything that moves even legs. But now, he always tries so desperately to get his tail. Why?

Every cat I've ever had did it. 'course most of them outgrew it. When they're older, they're either bored, need company (as in another cat) or toys to play with. And sometimes, it's the "because it's there!" mentality. You didn't say how old your cat was.
And lornil, your answer was pretty rude and uncalled for. Don' t you have another website where you can go to insult people?

Hi,

Perhaps it's the only toy around? Most cats will do that... But
I bet if he had a few other toys he would forget his tail... He is definitely playful, so he NEEDS several type of toys... I ha a cat which would rock his own self on the top of a rocking chair... He may be the son or grand-son of a circus cat... They love learning tricks too... Mine was simply very smart, he created his own circus tricks...lol....

Good luck...

He's burning off energy. Get him a ping pong ball and throw it in the tub or shower to chase.

Also get DaBird - a very cool cat toy that they LOVE to chase!

Because cats are fixated at moving things. They pounce at them, even their tails. It's their natural instint for survival.

You cat is just bored and playing with the first thing she sees wagging around. Get her a new toy and she'll stop for a while until the toy gets "old".

Because he hasn't caught it yet. When he does and bites it he won't do it again. Hey I rather him chase his tail than my legs!
