Now that you have got all sorts of intro to your question !!

Islam is a religion which commands total submission to Allah the only god, it is a very practical religion which is like a guide to humans, The beauty I see in Islam is that it has the commands from god and also shows how those should be carried out by practical examples from prophet muhammed.

Unfortunately Islam is portrayed as evil religion in the media but as you know it claims the fastest growing religion in the world how is this possible ? it is possible because the people who read and study about Islam are getting the message of Islam.

I would invite you to learn by yourself about Islam get a e-copy of the quran and read from some good sites about Islam then compare it to religions you know .. you will find some interesting things about it. Always remember Islam is a total religion it considers the society in large before making judgment!

Islam is submission to God/Allah. It teaches what is good and what is bad. Islam tells us to obey and follow what ever Allah says (Allah the Arabic word for God). Islam teaches to love one another and be kind to one another regardless of their religion or race. Islam teaches us how to live from the day we are born until the day that we die. The best way to know about Islam is to read the PROPER translation and meaning of the Quran or ro ask a Muslim scholar...... in this little space NO ONE can say all about Islam because it is too much..... Islam is the way of life.....

Quoting from a translation of the quran:

It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

If you really want to know, I'd suggest not to ask here, because this place has a lot of bigots & ignorant hate-mongers. (But also a lot of good people too)

You better go to some good Islamic websites, which talks about Islam:

http://sultan.org
http://al-islam.org

just like no religion is perfect. every religion has many great teachings and very few wrong ones too. islam is also a great religion with many great teachings and few bad ones too.
but here the problem lies, muslims concentrates and follows those very few bad teachings of islam like JEHAD. they should follow what's great about islam rather then such kind of things.

In the beginning a message was given to Adam and he was told to teach his offspring the knowledge that he had of god, of his oneness, of his power, and of his great mercy.

The same message was sent to Abraham, who was told " there is only one god worthy of worship." then he was given some rules for people to live by. He submitted himself to the will of god so he was a Muslim (one who submits himself to the will of god)

Then came Moses to guide the people back to gods straight path. He was also told that there was only one god of the universe who watched over everyone and was the only one worthy of praise. His followers chose instead to construct a golden calf in his absence and were disbelievers.

Jesus was sent by god to show people the awesome power of god and to call them back to his way once again. We believe that all of the messengers got their message from the same source and were preaching gods truth to the people of the world.

Muhammad was the last of the prophets and a seal on them till the end of time. Islam is the closest religion you will find to the original teachings of all of the original prophets.

"Do what this book tells you or we'll stone you."

The word Islam does not mean peace; it means submission. From Wikipedia: "In Arabic, Islam derives from the triconsonantal root Sīn-Lām-Mīm, with a basic meaning of 'to surrender'. Islam is an abstract nominal derived from this root, and literally means 'submission [to 'The God'].' The legislative meaning is to submit to God by singling Him out in all acts of worship {Monotheism}, to yield obediently to Him and to free and disassociate oneself from Polytheism and its people." While it is etymologically related to the word for peace (salaam), Islam simply does not mean peace, and anyone who says otherwise needs to buy an Arabic dictionary.

The Muslim is supposed to submit his will entirely to God. The Muslim woman is supposed to submit her will entirely to the male members of her family or her husband. Islam teaches that it is the Muslim's duty to conquer the lands of non-believers and either forcibly convert them, force them to live in submission, or kill them. Muslim apologists try to deny this, because they have an agenda to infiltrate and corrupt Western secular culture and bring it under the brutal rule of Sharia (Islamic theocratic law). Islam rejects such fundamental aspects of Western society as: separation of Church and State, nonreligious philosophy, the equality of women and their right to vote, and democracy.

They say not to listen to me, because they don't want you to know the truth. They want you to be a subserviant little dhimmi.
