I worry nonstop! Like 1 time, my sis took lipstick and wrote a note on the mirror for my Dad to wake her up. She used lipstick to make him notice. Then I got worried that the mirror might have "leftover" windex from when we cleaned it a long time ago, or it might have dust on it, and get on the lipstick. Then my Mom would use it, eat something and lick her lips, swallow what was on the lipstick, be in the hospital because of it, and be sick! I worry NONSTOP! Help! I have been to a counselor too. It helped a tad.

All the counselor told me was to breath in a paper bag.

I come from a long line of worriers, and I wish I could give you some helpful advice on this, but I can't. I don't even know what to do about it for myself. When I was 13 my doctor told me that I was going to worry myself into an early grave, but he gave no advice on how to stop worrying, other than meditation. So, if you get a good answer, please let me know!

Best wishes! :)

OK, calm down, I've had long time personal experience with thought patterns like this. It's called OCD, you get into your mind thoughts that you just can't get rid of. You worry about things other people seem to think are trivial. But, you just obsess over them, like cleaning and contaminants. It can torture you, I know because for me it went untreated. First: You need to see a Psychiatrist, no your NOT crazy, but you need to take medication, it will really help, I went from a mess to a functioning person. Second: You need see people trained to treat OCD, otherwise they tend to just throw meds at it. When your brain is sending you the wrong signals you need a therapist to help you sort them out. Three: If the meds don't work try others, there are about 10 different ones, I tried most and finally one and only one worked, Anafranil and oddly enough at a lower dose.
Four: Don't give up, I almost did, don't you, if you keep at it it's amazing how good you can feel when the OCD demons get buried. Any questions email ocdwizard@hotmail.com Good Luck and my best thoughts go with you.

I am the same way; but you need to worry about things that are of signifigant magnitude, not ones of trivial nature, and don't over analyze it. Often times there's nothing that anybody has control over in respect to to the outcomes of things; sort of like that saying about 20/20 hindsight, you know?.....(shoulda, coulda, woulda,)? However, The thing with the lipstick, that's over the top!
But, just remember that everything in life happens for a reason and happens because it happens!
Note: God doesn't give us anything more than what we can handle, and worry kills!

Find a better counselor. If they only helped a tad you either need a new one or to continue with the old one until you get this under control and learn new coping methods.
