I was driving on the freeway today.
My car has a little rainbow sticker on it near the rear plate.
A car comes up beside me and beeps the horn.
I look and the man and woman both give me the finger.
As they continued on, I see a religious bumper sticker and one of those fish things on the back of the car.
Do they not realise that behavior like that, is why so many people hate THEM?

pinseter.. it's bigot not biggot..
and yes, and no I would not ask the same question of jews or blacks or mexicans because in all my dealings with people, they have been for the most part very nice, or at least keep their narrow minded thoughts to themselves, unlike you.

For most people, the trendy Christianity thing is paper thin. They aren't going to excercise what they heard in church because they were too busy pacifying their babies, falling asleep, or just placing their minds elsewhere during the service. A lot of people (atheists and christians alike) hide behind religion or lack-therof to avoid their own real personality issues when dealing with others.
That's what started the cliche' "Holier than thou"
Why do you think their actions were predicated on your having a "rainbow" sticker? Is this a tongue -in-cheek way of saying that you support gayness? Not trying to justify the others' actions here, but it seems that you have some issues. If you are in fact not gay, then your question would have nothing to do about your sticker, but knowing that gayness is contrary to Christian belief, you take offense to peep's offense of your "rainbow" sticker, which is a symbol of gay pride. You obviosly cannot take criticism and have trouble revealing all of the facts. Reminds me of the liberal media in that respect.
How M I doing so far:?

I worked for a company with many of these so called Christians.
It was not pleasant..They even tried to tell me i couldn't work in a certain part if i didn't go to church...A threat of a lawsuit changed their mind quickly.
You are right in saying not all are like that, as the saying goes, a few bad apples.
Pinseter, i don't think he is a bigot..I have seen this happen, it really happens too much.

They obviously are not acting according to God's will. My family is like this. My sister says she's a Christian because she believes that Jesus died on the cross for her, yet she brakes about at least half of the 10 commandments daily. I do pray for her; that she will realize the error of her ways. But "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." It's in our nature to sin.
Just ask yourself: "Would Jesus have flipped me off?" Of course not. People need to understand what the Bible says about being a Christian (a true follower of Christ). We are not to be judgmental. That is not our job. There is only 1 judge.
When you say: "Do they not realize that behavior like that, is why so many people hate THEM?" You, yourself do not realize that those people were not acting how God wants his children to act. If only people would open up the Bible and see what is expected they would know that most people who call themselves "Christians" really are not following Him at all.
Also understand that no one is perfect. But they should have never been so hateful to you. That was not their place.

Well this is a good question. I was on a question the other day and the answerers, were 'Christians.' They didn't like the question, so they cursed the asker to burn up in hell. Oh yeah, that is 'real Christ-like' isn't it? Wanting sombody that you don't like to burn in hell forever, or go around and tell people that view God differently they are going to burn in hell. They are all about, oh look at me, I'm so cool, I'm a Christian, now go burn up in hell! (Rubs hands together with glee picturing the eternal pain and horror of eternally burning forever) (Nice guys!) They are sort of like Cartman from South Park. Lets hope the people that gave you the finger just bought the car, but unfortunately they are probably not!

Perhaps those 'Christian' stickers were on the car when they purchased it. Perhaps it was a borrowed car.
Perhaps you are judging a little too quickly.
Or, perhaps all people who claim to be Christians are not actually followers of Christ. It is possible to claim to be someone one is not.
If I say, "I'm a doctor. I'm a doctor," will you then rely on me for medical advice, diagnosis and treatment, even tho you have no proof?

you are right, although i am a christian, or shall i say, walk with christ, born again, i see how even the best, because they are still human, do turn people away from even wanting to get to know the lord. that is why we have to be careful with our actions we still continously are learning how to witness, and do what we preach. not just be hearers of the word, but doers also. it is taught that our every move is watched, and you just proved that to be so. i personally would like to apologize for our brother and sisters reactions, i just hope that you dont look at all like that. God Bless!

I understand where your coming from. However a couple of bad apples can't spoil the whole bunch. Also you never know who the driver and passenger is. Once I let my son use my car, and I got a ticket in the mail for him blowing the toll. So please in the name of Jesus don't judge all according to a few.
Many God bless you and do a wondrous work in your life

I agree with you 100%. If they're such good Christians, why don't they follow ALL of the commandments, like the most important one... "Love thy neighbor"? It's all about the stupid bible. It tells them that homosexuality is a sin...it's horrible how one idiotic religion could put so much more hate into this already troubled world.

Religion is often the instrument of hate. When you think you're right then everyone else is wrong. The problem with this superiority complex is that it is breed by religion and politics that is often perverted to the point that it's real meaning has been lost in hate.
