before you panic any futher, ask yourself the following:
how long ago did i put in this request? (you didn't mention that)
how does my boss usually respond to requests like this?
how have other people in positions higher than they started gotten around my boss?
do some investigation before you make mountains out of molehills! good luck!

I f the boss does not get back to you within a week or so remind her that you would like some added responsibility and are ready for a "performance review" this is usually the most appropriate way to ask for a raise or promotion.

Id wait a week or two then just ask her about it. I am in the same position right now, and I am curious myself. But I want to know when I do get the promotion that it was because of all my hard work and effort , not because I begged to get it.

I WOULD SAY A WEEK IS JUST ABOUT THE TIME YOU SHOULD GIVE YOUR BOSS.

THEN, SEEK FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITH YOUR BOSS & don't BE A CONFRONTIONIST IF YOUR REQUEST HAS NOT BEEN MET.

GIVE YOUR BOSS A FEW MORE DAYS & AGAIN SEEK FOR A MEETING TO DISCUSS YOUR CASE.

MOST OF ALL, BE PREPARED TO ANSWER QUESTIONS LIKE;
* WHY DO YOU DESERVE THIS PROMOTION?
* WHAT ARE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMPANY?
* HOW HAS THE COMPANY BENEFITED SINCE YOU JOINED ETC.......................

WISH U LUCK..........................

if u think that u have all the qualifications for u to be promoted and as u have pointed out to u r boss i think u don't have to wait u can just go and ask the results. if she knows you very much it will not take that much time to make a decision.

When you stop getting along with your boss, it's time to move. Does your boss usually respond timely? If not, you better start whining if you intend to stay put

keep on at them, if they hmm and hah then they arent even thinking about it. means they arent to be trusted. start looking for another job because your undervalued. its a simple request can i have a promotion? not the rewriting of the declaration of independance. you should get an answer there and then. sod her
