I saw someone else had asked this and the only responses received indicated that people had not actually read, or understood, the question. So, I'm posting it again for myself:

Why don't Jews believe in Jesus? Do you agree with their reasons? SEE THIS SITE FOR THEIR EXPLANATION: http://www.aish.com/spirituality/philosophy/Why_Dont_Jews_Believe_In_Jesus$.asp

Here are some more ideas: http://jewsforjudaism.org/web/faq/general_messiah-criteria02.html

Again, no offense has been intended. It's just that christians often ask me "well, have you ever read isaiah 53?!" and when I respond "yes, and it doesn't seem to be about jesus" they are shocked. It seems that many of them actually believe that Jews have never had any reason for denying christianity - a decision we've often given our lives for over the past 2000 years. So, now I'm wondering if any christians have read OUR reasons and what they're feelings are about it.

I asked my best friend who happens to be Jewish why the Jews don't believe that Jesus was the messiah and she said that there was one simple reason: he died without bringing about the golden age of Judaism. The definition of the Messiah for Jews is someone who is descendent from the house of david and who will bring back the golden age to the country. Jesus, as many miracles as the bibles says he performed, he didn't do that. For Christians, he died as a martyr and Chrisitanity was built around that belief but it didn't make sense for Judaism to follow him anymore.

P.S. to the first answer- The hitler comment was just unnecessary and offensive.

Perhaps its a matter of semantics. Jesus may not be the Jewish nation's Messiah but He is their Savior. Maybe it's a matter of hardened hearts brought on by their strict legalism. How is it possible for a man to rise from the dead? To have eternal life? Would Jews reject these as absurdities? With God all things are possible so if He chooses to shame the wise to humble their hearts; to enlighten them as to priorities, such as loving the Lord their God, loving their neighbor; to value kindness, mercy, humility, etc. rather than their own learning it is well in His province to do so and yet they would bind their God by these specific prophesies as are mentioned in the rabbis explanation, closing their minds and their hearts to countless manifestations these past 2000 years of God's power, providence and beneficence as embodied in Christ's true disciples, His "friends" or as we call them, saints. God's purity and holiness is such that only He himself could provide the sin oblation necessary to reconcile his people to their God and that was Jesus - Victim High Priest, True Prophet and Sovereign King.

Jews believe the Messiah will bring peace to the world. Jesus has come and gone and we still have wars.

It is my understanding that the Jewish people respect and believe that Jesus was a teacher and rabbi. They are still waiting for their Messiah.
