I dont think anyone is opposed to immigrant workers. We're only opposed to illegals. It doesnt make me a racist, just follow our laws. Theres nothing wrong with wanting a better life. Heres something else I hate. When you come to America, embrace OUR way of life or go home. This isnt Mexico ans we dont want it to be. I wouldnt go to Mexico and wave an American flag. I wouldnt demand everyone in Mexico speak English.

I concur. Also that person that said there's no law that people have to embrace anything. You don't go into someone elses house and tell them how you want things to be done. If you don't like it, ge the fcuk out!

I see what you're saying and here's where I start to form an interesting opinion because I KNOW that illegal immigrants make up a large portion of our economy. I don't necessarily want them all gone. I just think that right now, if we can't secure an X number of feet border between us and them.. how can we secure an entire country?

Frankly, we should stop all illegal immigrants from the border. Here's what I don't get. How an ILLEGAL immigrant can be defended. He broke the law. Right? He's barely in the country and already broken a law.

I don't think they have to embrace our life completely, though... I mean.. They should be allowed to wave their flags but not for reasons like they think Mexico's better.... Only if it's a symbol of their herritage.

I just don't know. This is a touchy subject for a lot of people which is why I don't speak my opinion too much. It really isn't my first priority right now like it is to other people. I let other people debate... I just listen and form my opinions later.

It's better to follow the legal way to immigrate. Unfortunately, the legal way isn't all that easy. The government has restrictions on how many people can come from each country in a year, but the number of people who want to come is much greater! It is not just to forbid good well-meaning people to immigrate just because some arbitratry quota has been filled. So in a way, illegal immigration is an act of civil disobedience against unjust laws.

Well, there are people who are opposed to immigrant workers, even legal ones, because immigrants are willing to work harder for less pay.

Some immigrants don't have the resources (time & money) to earn citizenship. And it's hard to find people who would be willing to donate their time to teach them English. Keep in mind, there is no official language of the United States, and it's possible that in a few decades there will be more latinos than caucasians!

I agree with the illegal part, but I think that people should be able to speak any language they want in America. Americans wave Irish flags every March 17th and Italian flags every October. We have Little Italy's, China Towns, and other ethnic neighborhoods in almost every major city in America. I think people tend to be prejudiced when it comes to people of hispanic origin.

Honey, I live in the southern tip of a border state. We are drowning in illegals. They have no emissions on their cars and trucks. They drive while drinking a beer. They do not use baby car seats. Some of them still throw dirty buckets of water into the streets. Our schools are a mess. Our medical system is just about bankrupt. Our state land is being raped with garbage they leave behind when they cross over. Tourist are being killed in state lands, because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the illegals are up to criminal activity. Drugs are being smuggled across.

Last month they found pounds and pounds of illegal drugs in two suburban homes, with illegals living in the garages. It is everywhere tearing up family neighborhoods, making our roads unsafe. These illegals do not have car insurance, and the police have no way of running a profile on any of them.

It is just one big mess...and my city is in deep doodoo because of the illegal aliens.

Did you know that most of the illegal aliens entering the country in the 1980's were in fact from central America and were refugees of an illegal war being waged in secret by Ronnie Raygun? Remember Iran/Contra?

Today most of the illegals entering are also from central America...not just Mexico.

Do you realize you are an ignoramus?

The enemies are President Bush, his entourage, the suitable courtroom, and absolutely everyone else who's attempting to tell united states of america that the conflict is going nicely, North Korea isn't any probability yet immigrants and gays are, fact and sincerity breathe freely in DC, and the economic gadget is merely ducky.
