Read the Bible for yourself to find out what it means. I also recommend researching the history of the Bible (including both sides of the story, those who believe along with those who don't).
Why are people brainwashed into believing there is no God? The question really goes both ways and I'm just wondering if the so called "non-brainwashed" have a comprehensive understanding of both sides of the story? There's a lot more history to this religion than brainwashed kids listening to stories from their relatives.

So you would rather have a life full of no hope, no believes, and no dreams? I am pagan and I will stand for the christians here. By saying that christianity is a lie you are telling people that there is nothing to live for. People believe in religions because they wish to. It helps through the day knowing that someone is watching out for them, that their actions in life will dictate what happens to them. I don't believe Christianity is the only religion, obviously, but it is a religion based off of faith as is all other religions. Taking away ones faith is a life shattering move. People have faith because they believe in what their eyes do not see. They believe in it because their subconcious recognizes something. Christianity is not a lie. Yes, the bible was written by man but Jesus Christ was a man too and are saying that he never existed? It is proven he did. Maybe somethings in the bible are lies but not all. You have to believe in something or life will be empty. It doesnt have to religion per se, but you gotta belive.

Atheist are so angry. Not everyone is capable of believing what you believe in some people need their religions just like atheist need their anger and resentment. What ever it takes to make a person happier is what is best for this world. And if that means believing in a fairy tale then so be it. The human mind is not capable of understanding the truth anyway and some people need something to believe in. And by the way the bible is not all lies, some of those events have been proven by science.

Actually, you sound more like someone who's been brainwashed... you seem to have a mindless devotion to a philosophy for which the best evidence is the claimed absence of evidence, and you sound pretty single-minded in forcing others to believe what you believe. And if "life is better without believing in something a friend or relative has told you," I imagine you came up with atheism all on your own? Invented it completely out of the blue, and no friend or relative ever told you about it? Alright, Al Gore, I believe you. Oh wait, life is better if I don't believe you...

Its funny how some people with no knowledge like to spout off to hear themselves talk. You are one of these.
You have never read the Bible before. If you did you would have come away with much more than you did.
You speak of a normal life. There is no normal life here in this Earth Age. Everything is vanity says Solomon, everything. It means that until you attain a right standing with your creator, you are nothing.
Do spend sometime in the Word. It will help you and everyone you come in contact with.><>

Life without belief is
Life without value
life without value is
nothing.
living life without hope is not normal, more detrimental. and go ahead and deny it. go ahead and live ur life to the fullest with ur job, ur wife and children. that is all good. and then die feeling u had a good life. but thats it.u die. u had ur laffs and then ur done. that makes peace with u but it seems like to me that life like that has nothing to look forward to, no hope for future. its seems like we humans would be missing out sumthing more. than to be born, get a job, get married, have fun, follow the government, die. thats it? i think we can do so much more than that. look at the conditions today, war, crime, i think we can, with the guidance of God, do more than that. unfortunately man has ruined the reputation and have twisted many lies out of the truth. but there is 1 religion that is true. God says we can do much more than that in the Bible. but u wont beleive anything ive said becasue of what a friend or a relative or a chilhood memory scarred author has told u. =)

Well it mostly has to do with "REASON". People need a reason to be nice and careful to others. Yeah we could do without some of the other hyprocritical nonsense of it, but the bible was created to give us that drive we need to make others happy, and not kill each other just because our woman went to another man cause we didnt satisfy them. All you gotta know is that, Stuff happens, sometimes bad, sometimes good, and it is better to accept the hate unto ourselves and NOT to spread it upon the world. But remember GOD is real, he is you and I, and your neighbors dog, Treat him all with respect and he will work to do the same, but he might not always be respectful. So respect others first. Even your couch.

a large portion of society needs something to believe in outside themselves. so they latch onto religions. not just the bible but a religion that suits them or a life style from budda to goth, native american to christian, and here i am an old wiccan. we do need some sort of structure, but thankfully wicca is very relaxed. they say religion is the drug of the masses, and wicca is the marijauna of the lunatic fringe,,,, yep im a little fringy. lol

I don't believe in what atheists believe. My life is bettter without believing what some internet site decided is true, when in fact it is a bunch of lies produced by those who can not stand the fact that there is a being more powerful than themselves.
