What is a rader detector?

If you are asking about using a RADAR detector,in the United States, it is legal in a private vehicle, in every state except VA and the District of Columbia.

Federal law prohibits the use of radar detectors in commercial vehicles, so it is illegal in your 18 wheeler!

If your using it at place where you might need one, like a baseball field to check a pitchers throw or a race track to mark speed or at a shooting range to see the difference in speed of different brands of ammo.
However if your looking to have a little fun, try sitting on a park bench on the side of the road pointing a hairdryer at on coming cars.

Only in some states. Check out this link (can't swear it is accurate, so I would check your sdtate laws):

Also, instant-on radar can fool radar detectors in some situations, so maybe you just shouldn'tspeed?

it actually depends on were u live because each state will handle it differently. what u should do is just **DONT GET CAUGHT!!** if u have time before cops see it hide it.
