The fastest, most effective way is at a dentists office using ultra-violet whitening systems, but other than that...make sure you brush at least twice a day with a good toothpaste. Perhaps one that has whitening power. I recommend Aquafresh...the Extreme Clean w/ Whitening. Brushing even more than twice a day might help. Try to avoid staining drinks like coffee, tea, and wine or use a straw to dink these and try to avoid contact with your teeth when doing so. (this is not easy to do, but does work) You may also want to start to chew some of the sugar-free Whitening gums that are out there!

First, teeth tend to have a certain shade... some (rare) people actually have teeth that are white when clean, while most of us are somewhere between white and yellow. Any 'cleaning' actions, which covers most whitening toothpaste and the natural remedies (such as brushing with baking soda), won't get you above your natural level.

For that you really need a whitening agent, and those strips you talk about would fit the bill.

Try swishing with hydrogen peroxide (the regular household stuff, and do not swallow it ) for ten mins a day, for a week or so. I have done this and it makes a difference...it also makes your breath fresh feeling for a long time. I am not sure if there is any reason to stop after a week or so,but I found after that many days I began to get a weird taste in my mouth. But I simply waited a week or so and started again for a week...Now I rinse with peroxide once in a while just for maintenance, plus it does make your mouth feel really clean.
Hope that helps.

You can try swishing a small amount of peroxide around in your mouth once in a while, but DO NOT swallow it!

You can also buy whitening gels that you can put on your teeth without wearing the strips.

Use a whitening toothpaste regularly, or brush your teeth with baking soda.

Don't smoke or drink coffee.

Brush them good on a daily basis. Stop drinking tea and coffee, both stain the teeth. Smoking also stains them, so if you have that nasty habit stop immediately.

Most people do not spend enough time brushing their teeth. They brush up and down once or twice and that's it. This could be causing your problem.
