For many people it wouldn't matter if Mel made these comments two days, two weeks, two years, or even two decades ago. The fact remains that he made a severely hefty check on a religious movie a few years ago that supposedly "demonstrated his love for Christianity" and here we are now looking at allegations about him using anti-Semitic comments. Theoretically, many people may see this entire situation as the actions of a (now seemingly) hypocritical actor who cashed in on something he may or may not be completely truthful to. This is one of the many reasons people don't talk religion or politics: you never know who you're going to offend....I just hope Mel has a good public relations team or else his career will resemble the Titanic. And we ALL know what happened there.... Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the "demonstrated his love for Christianity" part.

No ridicule here. But the world finally knows that Mel Gibson is, in fact, anti-Semitic as was contended when the Passion of The Christ was produced. He's a bigoted person, and I will avoid any of his movies or productions like the plague that he is.

everyone did move on. however when he got drunk and started trash talking the Jews and showing how he really is an anti-semite ppl again brought up the subject of that movie the passion of the christ, and how that movie was seen by many individuals as anti semetic even though it had never been proven. after gibsons comments, however, new "evidence" has been shed on this case and therefore the topic came up again. what - u cant talk about anything which happened 2 year?

Come on, you know what's up. People just love controversy. It's a simple answer, but that's all there is to it. And the only thing people love more than a celebrity, is a celebrity making a fool of themselves (or simply making a mistake), and proving themselves to be just as human as all the rest of us. I'm not a racist, nor do I tolerate racism in any form, but I do understand that there are people that feel certain things, and those feelings unfortunately come out when you're intoxicated. What he said wasn't right, but he was drunk, he made terrible mistake, and with some kind of clinical help, that should be the end of it. I mean, he did apologize, which is more than you can get out of more people these days, so...

Mel Gibson's remarks very clearly reveal that he was actually engaging in blood libel against the jews by making Passion of the Christ. Many people thought that but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now, we find out that he manipulated us for his nazi agenda. As a christian, I am OUTRAGED that he would use my religion for so sinister a purpose. I want his head on pike as a warning to others.

If Mel Gibson could "move on" from his erroneous belief that, 2,000 years ago, his precious Christ was killed by Jews, then perhaps we'd forgot his lousy films. But then a ROMAN Catholic like him is hardly going to acknowledge that Christ was sentenced in a country under ROMAN occupation, under ROMAN law, escorted to the cross (a Roman form of execution) by Roman soldiers, nailed there by Roman soldiers, and left to die. The fact that the Romans went on to accept Christ and turn his teachings into an instituationalized religion doesn't change a thing, and it's hardly surprising that when they came to write the history of Christianity, they somehow forgot their involvement in the execution of their top guy. It is not surprising either that Gibson is equally hopeless, biased and bigoted in his version of history. Let's all steer clear of his useless films from now on.

Mel Gibson got arrested last week for drunk driving. While the cops were trying to arrest him he mad anti-semitic remarks. Now, we all know that alcohol acts as a truth serum, so to speak, and when you are intoxicated your inhibitions are lowered, and you have less control over the part of your brain that you use to lie with. So, that being said, he obviously meant what he said, and the crappy apology is just a lie.

People were bashing Elia Kazan for something he had done 40 years earlier. Why can't we bash people for what they've done in the past? What does "moving on" do for us except allow us to forget something terrible only to have it happen again later? No, I say let's remember as much as we can and learn from our mistakes, not repeat them. Sheesh! You sound like our President.
