For the past three days I couldn't sleep. You know how you go in a deep sleep while I haven't for three days the only sleep I've been getting was resting my eyes without deep sleep. What will happen if I keep doing this?

In this heat wave I do not blame you. In the last 3 days I have gotten the worst sleep in 2 years. It should be OK you will notice many signs before anything serious happened unless its something serious keeping you from sleeping.

You can away go see a doctor.

You will probably just be very fatigued. Your brain will eventually shut down to sleep, its a defense mechanism for the brain. That's why people have accidents when they drive if they are sleepy, the brain is tired and wants to sleep so it shuts down. Yours will eventually do that when it gets very tired. Other wise, your body will just be extremely fatigued, you may not be able to concentrate, become very irritable, etc...don't drink caffeine, kool aid, eat too much at night, etc....it's hard on the kidneys and the body. IF you are restless, drink water...good cold fresh water, lots of it, and then go to bed. Also, aerate your room. Open a window and get some fresh air in there. If you have alot on your mind, you are not going to sleep very well. Why don't you try deep breathing and relaxation. I mean really concentrate on it. People who do Tai Chi do this often, that's why they are very healthy and sleep well. Hope this helps.

I usually have sleep trouble myself.
I don't know the long-term affects of something as such...
but if you're worried I suggest you schedule a doctors appointment or maybe they can even just help you over the phone.
I find it very annoying that there's a pill for everything and whenever anybody has a problem they just pop one...
but I don't think a sleeping pill could hurt.
Try it out and see how it goes.
Maybe tonight will be different after all anyway.
I hope my advice helped and I apologize if it didn't.
Take care!
(Sleep well!)

In addition to trying some sleeping pills, I would also suggest that you try deep breathing. I often have trouble falling asleep, and find that if I concentrate on my breathing and take deep slow breaths, I will eventually fall asleep. Also I would limit your time with anything that will stimulate you, ie. TV, your computer, reading, music, whatever, close to the time you want to go to sleep. Also limiting your bedroom to sleep only will help you "get in the mood" for sleep. Another trick that may help comes from Chinese medicine; take an onion and cut it in half, and place it by your bed. For some weird reason, breathing in onion helps many people fall asleep and stay asleep. Good luck!

Eventually, with lack of sleep, your body will shut down. You could get really sick, gain weight, you'll be really really tired of course. I recomend sleeping pills, chamomile tea, Meatonin Caplets (homeopathic sleepig pill), adjusting you diet, cut out processed and overly preserved foods. Take Vitamins, go to sleep as early as possible. Meditate or do yoga, or do really vigourous excercise before bed. Those should all help.

Maybe you have stress, I don't believe in sleeping pills, that is addictive. Try some tea, like ginger or chamomile tea, No Sugar in it please! You can add a little bit of honey if you want. Get relax, go to bed with a book and read.

Try this before to try the pills.

Hope this can help.

Don't try sleeping pills. Try to relax before sleep, don't eat late, drink any coffee or tea. Listen to some relaxing music or try to read some book. I hope it can help you.

You will eventually sleep. Your body will physically only keep going until it can't anymore and then you will sleep.
