Its not bad for it but it depends on what type of hair you have because washing it daily might dry out your hair's natural oils which can be bad for so washing it every other day is your safest bet

Technically, hair is dead...so washing it or not won't hurt it. It will change the appearance, but not make it hurt. *grin*

Hair has natural oils in it that protect it. When you wash it too frequently, you wash away these oils. Then again, some women have an over abundance of these oils and the washing helps to reduce that greasy look. If you have dry hair, or hair that does not become too oily, than wait at least a day between washing...or take steps to replace the oil you remove by using products that don't further dry out your hair (things that contain alcohol should be a no-no).

Good Luck!

Regularly washing your hair strips it of essential oils and can leave it dry and brittle. If you have naturally oily hair, use a mild, pH-balanced shampoo. When washing your hair don't rub the scalp vigorously as this will stimulate the oil glands to produce more sebum.

However, there is nothing wrong with washing your hair everyday if that's what suits you. Chopping and changing your shampoos is fine - your hair does get used to types and adapts itself to each one. If you wash your hair everyday with a moisturizing shampoo, use a clarifying shampoo on the third day, or if you use a shampoo for greasy hair, use a neutral shampoo every three days.

* I washed my hair everyday for hygenic purposes, to get rid of dandruffs. I feel so lazy when I don't take a bath.

It depends on your hair--but, yes washing is hard on your hair--just make sure that you use a very good shampoo and conditioner--also what is the hardest is styling so if you blow dry or use an iron on it is very wearing on your hair. If you can get away with washing every other day it would be better.

Yeah. It strips the natural oils out of it. If you need to wash it so much, buy a shampoo for frequently washed hair

yes especially if it's long. your scalp produces oils to protect the hair and you're washing them all away. also, brushing with a good boar bristle brush will help pull those oils to the ends. unless your'e really oily (even then your sebaceous glands are just overcompensating) you can just pretend to wash your hair. do the motions but don't add shampoo, then keep your conditioner on the ends and off the scalp.

..there is natural oils in your hair. Washing it everyday washes them out and your hair can become super dry. But then again.. if you go too long without washing it, the oils become noticeable!

yes i heard it is, i hear that can cause it to fall out quicker in the long run, but at the same time it makes it grow, you also need to change shampoo and conditioner once in awile since it leaves residue, washing your hair everyday has not yet been scientifically proven to be bad i think
