My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 years. All his guy friends don't like taking their girlfriends or wives out when they go out. So every time they go out it ends up being a "guys" night, and it's not just the simple night out, they go all out...get dressed up, go to nice places, etc. I understand the occasional guys night out, but come on, every time? It really bothers me because I like to go out too and I'd like to be included at times. I have my occasional girls night out, but the majority of the time, I'm inviting him along to join the fun. I've tried discussing this with him, but he said that he's never the one to plan anything. It bothers me. Am I being irrational?

It sounds strange to me. I don't think you are being irrational.

No offense, but it sounds like a bunch of gay men. On guys night out, I think most men don't get all dressed up and go to "nice places".

No, I think you have every right to feel neglected. He's not responding to your needs and being quite rude! I'm in a similar situation myself. My boyfriend doesn't like spending money as he's on a low wage and has a mortgage, fair enough, yet he always spends a stack of money when he goes out with his mates, and yet we never go out on dates anymore, we just sit around at home to 'save money,' PLUS this weekend he's been invited to a wedding and there was no "and partner" on the invitation. So he's going to that alone, and then a work ball afterwards without me! That sucks, he knows I like getting dressed up. So I'm getting dressed up, hitting the most expensive restaurant in town with my friends, and then going whale watching (something he's always wanted to do) without him. Fight fire with fire I say :) Bit harsh, but you get what I'm saying. I think that's the only way they'll learn. If not, time to move on. Best of luck!

YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO FEEL THE WAY YOU DO, AND MAYBE
YOU GIRLS SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND GET DRESS UP
THE WHOLE NINE YARDS. AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN
WHEN THE SHOE ON THE OTHER FOOT.
