Illegal immigrants aren't taking over the middle class, they are adding to poor people. The rich people are getting rid of the middle class.
They don't learn English because 1. Their is no official language in this country and 2. There is no incentive to learn it. If you move here be it legally or illegally, you can move to a part of a neighborhood and find work with people who speak Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese or whatever. If you can live and work without having to learn one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn then why bother?

Illegal ALIENS, just CRIMINALS, illegal immigrants is a misnomer, they are not immigrants by any stroke of the immagination, they are criminals, law breakers, theives.... immigrants would give their loyalty to the USA, illegal aliens don't and won't.
They come here to STEAL, not to assimilate into our culture.... Why don't they just stay in the country that mistreats them and fight for change there... Mexico is a rich country.... its citizens could have a good life, filled with the chance to be a success... if they fight for it instead of deserting their people and their country.... All they can ever be in the USA is a criminal since they are here illegally.
It is hard for them to understand that the USA does not belong to Mexico and NEVER will.
The day without illegal aliens was totally wonderful... it was the American Dream fulfilled. Please do it again, and again, and again, it really hurt the illegal alien cause and I liked that.
I have to obey our laws, why shouldn't illegal aliens be expected to do the same... of course if they did, they would not become illegal aliens.

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of online courses which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

OK , let me think , uh mm paying 1000 or more for rent, working more than 12 hours/ day, spending $150 every 15 days to have something to eat, paying monthly passes to ride the bus.
uh mm i don't think they have money to pay for a teacher/ tutor. sometimes is very difficult to learn a language when everybody around you (English speakers) is making fun of your accent or your bad pronunciation.
---
learning a new language is not easy believe me, and as you can read, my grammar is not perfect, but every day i try to learn something new. thanks God i had the opportunity to come here legally. I'm agree legals, or illegals should learn (basic) English, we live here , we need to learn the language. (without leaving behind our cultures and our native languages.
there are a lot of "illegal immigrants" that speak, write and read English better than native Americans. ( i met some of them when i was in high school) so you can judge everybody because you met a group of non English speakers.

First, come to a decision whether or not you wish to be taught British, American, or Australian English. There are predominant variations. But they're all similarly comprehensible (you'll be able to talk to an American with a British accessory, for vice versa). I propose studying American English, seeing that Americans talk extra obviously and certainly not drop their R's. Then, concentrate to pronunciations. There is Pronunciationbook on YouTube to coach you ways, or you'll be able to use a dictionary. There are a few phrases that may be mentioned multiple means (like "quite often" or "both") and be similarly proper. There also are a few phrases which can be written the equal however have distinctive, however quite often identical, meanings (separate, for instance). Then you have got to be taught how one can "mixture" phrases". Foreigners have a tendency to provide phrases their complete pronunciation, and go away pauses in among the phrases. That will sound unnatural, like you're enunciating. Words mixture in combination and would possibly difference their pronunciation in many instances. The "T" in "Metal" and "it's what it's" is quite often mentioned extra like a "D". It is predominant to be taught the English R sound. This is like an L, however curl your tongue again a bit of. It will have to now not contact the roof of the mouth. This is seeing that the "Rolled R" may also be pressured with a "D" or "T". Also, be taught the "Th" sounds. There are 2 models of 'Th', each mentioned utilising the equal tongue function. Don't be afraid to stay your tongue out a bit of for Th. You need to! It could also be impolite in a few cultures, however now not so in ours. Try speaking to a couple English audio system. Maybe take a commute to America, UK, Australia, or yet another English-talking location. I went to Mexico for per week and I spotted an benefit in my talking knowledge for Spanish.

Oh I dont know. Maybe its because they are working 12 hours a day, making less than minimum wage and trying to feed themselves and their family. However, its totally understandable how people can be so angry with them. I mean they are lucky we "let" them clean bathrooms, bus tables and do all the things we don't really want to do.

If illegal immigrants cannot speak English, they will not be able to read or understand your question.

They spend all their money on getting here. They don't have any for english lessons. Besides, if you had to try, would you be able to learn spanish without having a teacher?

Doesn't look like you learned English judging from your awkward phrasing and using to instead of too.

That is the least they could do since they are freeloading off of the American people and taking jobs away from the middle class.
