So they used to be good friends but then something happenned between them. And now they don't get along anymore. If anybody knows the whole story, please tell me. Or just what you know. Thanks.

what i remember from an interview was that ortiz had the belt and liddell was the number 1 contender for the title.. tito refused to give him the fight... tito is really big on loyalty and he thought that chuck and he were friends (they were sparring and training partners) and that he wouldn't have to fight him.. however chuck rightfully deserved the fight and call upon dana white to set it up, after all he was the #1 contender... well, this pissed tito off royally and he severed ties w/chuck and vowed to hurt him bad.. well, that didn't work out the way tito planned.. chuck chased him around the octagon and pumelled him with a flurry of punches and knocked his @$$ out!!!!

According to an interview a few years ago, Liddell said they're not really friends and they just hang out together. Ortiz avoided Liddell for years until Liddell became the mandatory challenger. Of course, Liddell won their fight via ko.

They were supposed to be friends who ha a pact not to fight each other. Then Liddell was ready for the title shot and they ended up fighting in UFC 47.
