I'm a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and I have long detested that service dress uniform. It looks like a business suit with a hand full of lapel pins stuck to it. So you know my opinion about that but I have to say the new uniform is little if any better. A military uniform should look like a military uniform and these new ones don't hit the target as far as I am concerned.
I apologize in advance but to liken the new AF uniform to a Marine Dress Uniform borders on an insult to the Marine uniform. Sorry but to me it looks like basically the same business suit with an external belt designed to wrinkle fabric and make the overall appearance that of an ill fitting short blue bath robe complete with a tie cord.
I suppose this has been a bit on the blunt side but I have never been know beating around the bush. I guess if I was trying to be very very nice I would just say they look like crap and I don't like them.
In all fairness, I didn't like the change over of the enlisted ranks that required master sergeants wear tech stripes with a single handle. Made no sense to me and also made it impossible for me to hide my stripes. Hidden stripes are much more fun than obvious ones.

In general the Air Force uniform is rather boring. I find myself wishing that we had more of a variety to choose from, especially for weather considerations. If there is a formal event during the summer it's the service dress uniform, which is hot as Hell. Why not something similar to what the Navy has with their dress whites? Something cool and still more formal than simple blues.
I like the Marine Corps style uniform, too, as it is more "military" than the others, and if the Air Force needs to focus more on anything it's on being more "military".

Take the initiative and do a touch examine till now you utilize Y!A. we want the Air stress through fact they have comprehensive air superiority. the place else are you going to have the F-22, F-15, F-sixteen, C-5, AC-one hundred thirty, A-10, B-2, B-1B just to call some. have you ever no longer heard of Pararescue, the adult males who each and every so often shop SEALs. actually risking their lives so as that "others would stay". Or wrestle Controllers who're qualified to call in airstrikes as nicely as set up airfields, those adult males are in lots of cases the 1st ones in and are in lots of cases deployed/asked as element of a definite ops team with different branches. If united states of america did no longer want the Air stress, investment could be shrink and thats it, common. yet we do, did you comprehend that the Air stress has the main important area application? Or that we carry the codes to nuclear warheads, better than those the army has? or possibly that we've greater plane than all different branches? And that the Air stress performs cyber operations as nicely as air superiority to guard communications and electronics that keeps united states of america working like clockwork (like your water structures)? So specific, we do. Your question is like asking why can we want Marines as quickly as we've military? Or why can we've the Coast guard if we've the army? each and each has it owns features that keeps each and each others activity greater handy and dealing easily, if one branch became long previous, it may create chaos. army does have plane, yet you do comprehend that a agencies substantial activity is to venture ability in that region, and that the plane are meant to weaken specific defenses for the Air stress to salary the conflict with its truly expert craft.

I don't really care for either of the new looks. Nor do I care for the new AF shirts, but thats a different matter. I wish they would change the womens pants if they are going to change anything. They have these high waists and pleated fronts and everyone looks pregnant! I just want something more professional looking.

As a former marine I got to say they all look like bus drivers.
The high collar will never work in the Air Force. It requires military bearing and discipline. Most wing wimps are too busy whining and complaining through their piss poor training to learn bearing and discipline.

The “Billy Mitchell” model dress jacket is cool. Rather 'retro' WWI.
The “Hap Arnold” style service coat is very 'ordinary'.

The old one's looked awesome. The new ones make them look like flight attendants and commercial airline pilots. But if they're more comfortable then so be it because the men and women in the air force serve and protect our country and they're tough to join

The Hap Arnold looks good....but isn't it time to think outside the box and start getting a little star-treky?

They fly faster than the speed of sound! Just imagine what happens to the uniform at that speed.
It is no wonder that they keep dropping their uniform.
