A lot of people think the Jews did not consider the deuterocanical Books as being part of the scripture. when actually they closed their cannon AFTER Christians closed their cannon in 328 ad. And they threw out the Deutironical books simply because they were written in Greek. Luther came a long and threw out the same books because the it was convenient since the doctrine on purgatory and good works were found in these scriptures. Pure and simple History.

1) Other books are quoted in the Bible which are neither canonical nor deuterocanonical, yet nobody claims they should be included in the Bible.
2) Catholics do pray to Mary. What Protestants misunderstand is what Catholics pray to her for -- namely, to add her prayers to their own (just as one might as a friend, "Please pray for me").
3) Catholics have gone overboard on the honor and respect given to Mary to the point that they insist that (a) Mary was conceived without sin -- something only Jesus can claim -- (b) Mary lived totally free from sinning -- again, something only Jesus can claim -- and (c) that Mary was bodily assumed into heaven at the moment of her death -- something that the Bible doesn't teach and therefore ought not to be required of people to believe.
4) True, "brother" can have multiple meanings, but letting "brother" mean "brother" is easy enough to understand and doesn't cause any Christological issues, as it is only important that Mary was a virgin up through Christ's birth, not afterwards.

The Jews never considered deuterocanon as scripture. These were included in the LXX because the Greeks who were paying for the translation wanted them. They relate accurate history but are of no significant value to the Christian.
John 20:30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in front of his disciples. They are not written down in this book. 31 But these are written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. If you believe this, you will have life because you belong to him.
... In other words, what is there is sufficient. Since the law is no longer in effect, what difference does it make anyway?
Eph 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Gal 2:21 I do not get rid of the grace of God. What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!

Down through the centuries, there has been no unanimous interpretation that Christ planned to make Peter the foundational rock on which the Church would be built. When the New Testament speaks of the Church's foundation, it always clearly identifies Christ as that foundation, and no one else (1 Cor 3:11, Eph. 2:20, 1 Peter 2:4-8) In his own letter to the Church, Peter never assumed the title or authority of anything like a pope. He was an elder who urged his fellow elders to "be shepherds of God's flock" (1 Peter 5:2).
The Catholic church has used this Peter concept to justify interpreting various passages of Scripture to make the Bible fit or support its traditions. Even instituting the Apocrapha as scripture itself and "adding to" the word of God.
The Catholic church has developed a "superveneration" of Mary through the years by various popes including her immaculate conception in1854 by Pius IX, doctirine of the Assumption (taken directly to heaven) by Pius XII in 1950 and the words "As no man goeth to the Father but by the Son, so no man goeth to Christ but by His mother" coined by Pope Leo XIII in 1891 which is the most incriminating. These statements obscure Christ's function as unique mediator and places Mary on too high of a pedestal.

I'm a Catholic, but this is not the way to convert others to our faith> This will cause anger and disunity> we must preach w/ patience, tolerance, and respect, inorder that all christians and un-christains alike may become "one body" just as Jesus commanded> Other people were just raised "protestant" therefore that is what they believe> i'm guessing you were raised a Catholic, so you believe it to be true> peace.

Easy, tiger. The catholic church is a very respected tradition. You don't have to be so confrontational. All christians are on the same side. Don't be a hater.
