I dont understand it. My families had to come from ellis island to get into this country. But they think they can hop a fence to be Legal? I think all illegals should be sent back to the country in which they came from, who agrees?

Agreed.

Personally, I don't believe most illegals have any interest whatsoever in becoming American citizens. They don't want to have to pay taxes and buy insurance, etc. They don't even plan to stay in the USA forever, when they first come. It's only after they get used to the good money (by their standards) and/or develop a romantic relationship with a citizen and/or have a child here, that they change their minds and decide to stay. However, even then, I really don't think they care about obtaining legal citizenship because they always plan to eventually return home, where they can retire in relative comfort on the nest egg they sent home all the years they were illegally in the USA.

The illegal aliens in the United States believe that they should be granted citizenship because they are desperate.

The US is too soft on the illegal aliens. Where in the world can you see illegals demonstrating and demanding that they be granted American citizenship just because they had been working here illegally and had entered the country illegally. The word "illegal" is painted all over their bodies and faces but they still act like they are American citizens whose rights were denied. As illegals, they have no right at all to ask the US to grant them citizenship.

I think that becoming a citizen of this country is something they should have to work for. After all, we have those who have fought in many ways to make sure we have the freedoms and the standards we have today.

it's true some people do 'hop the fence' and hope for citizenship. but the majority of illegal immigrants are working in this country and supporting their family. that means they are shopping in our stores, buying our automobiles, and generally contributing to society. those are the people that deserve citizenship.

I agree, my great grandparents came through Ellis Island from Europe...we have their papers...they went through the process of becoming citizens, worked hard, etc. It pisses me off that these people jump over, break laws, and ***** when they're ****** over. Go home assholes!!

I agree too. Thing is, illegals don't pay taxes... but feel they deserve the rights of Americans who are legal and do pay taxes.

I think there would be few illegals if you started charging their employers! They come to work, and they get jobs, illegally!

What can you do in America that is "illegal" and get away with it?
'Illegals have no rights here until they become citizens.

They don't want to be Americans, they just want to work here, they have made that quite clear, they do not want to assimilate or learn the language.
