Think of this as a chance to examine your beliefs from a new perspective.

I've gone through phases like that, and I used it as a chance to study my beliefs from a more objective point of view.

In the end I end up with a stronger faith, worst case you find out what you believe isn't true, then you're better off.

However one suggestion spend time with those who share your beliefs and talk to them about your situation.

I understand what you mean. I wasn't brought up to believe in any religion. So I've been doing a soul search for years. That is beside the fact though. I tried Christianity and I always had a hard time praying. There is a lot of faith required to be a Christian. Without faith the whole religion will crumble. We live in a world that has a show me attitude. I think most people need to see to believe. How can a person that thinks that way have true faith in a religion that can't prove anything. Except in the bible. Then you have to have faith that the bible is true. When you come down to it it is all believing what someone tells you. I, personally, could never fall into it.

My best advice to you is to look to different religions. Do what feels right, to you. I would even look into science. When you find a religion or belief that feels right in your soul, then you'll have what you're looking for. I don't think that you will find it if you keep looking to the same thing. I hope this helps and didn't sound to much like bashing of Christians. I have a lot of respect for them. I think that all religion is great, I just don't believe in a specific one.

I couldn't pray for several years. My chronic pain was physical but took a mental and emotional toll on me. I was kind of numb with my spirituality. I wasn't doing anything really bad except not praying, studying His word ,or going to church.I allowed my disability to disable my heart and control me. I am fully aware now what happened and I hope to never go there anymore! I will always be disabled physically but My faith is strong and my love for God is visible in what I do daily. Not many see it in me since I am at home 99% of the time, but that is ok because God knows and He is the only one who really matters anyway. I will pray for you to return to God and receive the peace, happiness, and strength to fight off this bad time in your life. Best wishes.

I wonder why you lost it? God was always there, always concerned. His ways are mysterious. Maybe you didn't see answers to your prayers in ways you hoped.
I agree with Snookies. Read the Bible and let it increase your faith. If you can, pray for faith, faith that will endure even when you don't see the answers that you expect to your prayers.

What ever caused you to lose your faith you must see that it has a reason for a greater good. By it hapening something good must have happened in Gods plan. Remember God does not make bad things happen and He will Always! look after those who belive in him. Don't give up on him. If you lose faith you will find that what happened did have a reason, but it will be to late to regain your faith.

The bible says that Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.. If you lost your faith maybe you stopped listening to the word of God? you should go back into the word of God and gain your strength thru knowledge of Gods will. You will renew your faith and prayer life when you begin to hear God speak to you from the bible and instruct you.. sometimes we leave by choice because life throws us curves and we change our focus to this life and ourselves and forget that we have a spiritual home someday and have only this life to choose where we want to spend it.. Get back into the word of God and build that foundation again on Faith of the word of God. and Pray for wisdom from God who gives to all men liberally. You have made the first step to change and that's to recognize that you need to.

If you really want to, you will find your faith again. But I suspect it mus return to you on its own, not because you pursue it and need it, but because you no longer need it, you will finally find the strength to believe, rather than the fear you had as a child.

In the mean time, do your best to turn to people whose lives you wish to emulate, and ask them how they get by spiritually from day to day.

You can not find the way if you do not start the journey.

Peace

Just curious... if this is centered around an event in your life or if it grew gradually...

I encountered a period of time like that and for me, it was a slow process. I found that the best solution was to just pray even if I didn't feel like it. It helped me, maybe it will help you.

Yes, but I no longer want to or care about it. The nice thing is, I DO pray on occasion (when it provides comfort to someone). Sure I don't mean it, but I'm past the hangups one way or the other.

there are problems with religions ..
most popular problem .. is ..
after 2 or 3 steps of asking or trying it .. you must obey all things in that religion .. otherwise you have not any faith at all ..
there are missing things .. and things no one knows about it ..
that is why no one should say I have a great faith ..

it is like trying a triable software .. after trying it for a while . you should buy it or you must uninstall it .
maybe you unistalled your faith .. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
