Cars from europe and Japan Have to be shipped on boats to america. They chain those cars tightly to the decks of the ship In the event of high seas the cars won't or hope they dont break loose during that voyage. Transport Hooks have a "T" and turn into oval holes along the frame or strong parts of the chassis with a chain then is fastened to the ship

its the hook on the fron of ur car and might be one on the back too the hook is used for pulling the car when it has stalled or needs to be towed these hooks wont break uless they have a weak spot in them other than that they r unbreakable!!! it looks like a "J"
