I am a soldier...in the army of the Lord..and my agenda ...IS NOT MY OWN isn't that part of being a soldier...I don't know any soldier who has his own agenda when fighting a war...
SO as a soldier you are...I am supposed to follow direct orders from those who are above us ....Jesus is my captain.... and said this...Matthew 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
27.What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
24:14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
What is our great commission soldier..to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world...gospel..is good news....anything else goes beyond the directive...especially if you are led of the spirit of God..the Holy Ghost..who was charged after Jesus departed...so who should I obey ...man or God...
as we get closer to the end the bible says the love of many will wax cold...do you think the world cares about Christmas or x-mas.....as for me I will follow my orders and not be persuaded in wordly matters...like removing commandments from a court room...
come to think of it..what Paul said comes to mind...
my email is soldier612@yahoo.com...I use it because like I said I am a soldier in the army of the Lord
Paul said in Ephesians 6:11-12. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Basically the battle belongs to God ..but our warfare is not carnal..it is spiritual..and therefore not of this world...if you are fighting to have the commandments put back or Christ in Christmas...you're fighting the wrong war...it is against the devil..and his army...not the world..God bless

You're talking to the wrong crowd ( I am a christian) and I can tell you the people who claim to be Christians on this site are anything but Meek.
Not all but many of them are overly passionate people who come across judgmental, hateful and down right mean. Not to mention often ignorant.
There is certainly a balance Christians need to have but the majority of Christians on Yahoo answers, from experience are not overly meek.

Interesting that you say this. In the faith I practice we are known as the Church Militant. When we are confirmed by the Bishop, we become a soldier of the Church. Our duty is to defend the faith in our everyday lives.
Most kids don't know that when they are Confirmed. They are not taught that there is a spiritual battle going on for their souls.
Very hard to do for most people since they don't take their role seriously.
We have become too worldly and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Was Jesus a soldier? Did he fight with violence? Did he condone violence?
Those who have been Christian warriors have performed atrocities in the name of Jesus. There is no point where performing violence in the name of a peaceful religion can ever be justified. This is why there are martyrs, because Christians have proven they would sooner die for their cause than fight for their cause. This has been forgotten in large part.
Course, not being a Christian, I could be overlooking something.

People do fight it, there just aren't enough of us. So many in this once amazing country are doing things like having sex even before they become 18. I think we as christians could do a better job at defending our country. It was founded on christianity.

There are too many Christian soldiers who think they are the secret service. They worry more about not hurting feelings than about speaking the truth

where the dickens you been bro ??
my sentiments exactly---
there has been an acceptance game being played by the christian community for far too long in being religated to the sidelines for the sake of political correctness--far overdue that the warriors step forward and meet the enemy heads up and eye to eye--resist and the flight is a Biblical promise !!!

christians like us should stay out of politics and schools, thaose things have nothing to do with our faith. we need to help as many people as we can learn to share our faith, don't you agree?
