I do. It seems like a mini-death, and marks the end of an always too-short day. I go to bed with this unsettling feeling that I've left some task undone.

Never felt this --- sorry to hear that you do . . .
How can something feel - 'like something' - you've not yet experienced? (death).
Imaginings can be uncontrollable monsters, yes.
Something left undone???
What will it matter in a hundred years?
If you are truly 'seeking' some assistance - pursue this topic some more - see what others can offer. . .

I never dread falling asleep at night...sleep is *almost* always a welcome friend. Especially since many nights I find myself laying wide eyed and bushytailed, staring into the darkness, watching illuminated neon minutes pass on the clock.

In a way, sleep is like death, your subconscious could be thought of as a flicker of your soul, if you believe in soul, when you are free from body. You may feel as though you have not safeguarded yourself mentally before presenting yourself to an open subconscious each night. Sleep should be an awakening. I feel this is when your subconscious mind is allowed to think freely, without being restricted. I have learned much about myself by deciphering my dreams.

I keep having this reoccuring dream that I die from some kind of impact (car crash, plane crash, bombed, etc.). Each time upon impact, I see bright white red light and I feel myself bust up into particles of energy dissipating through the air...I'm still working on this one...

*scratches head* What was the question?

Many people with OCD feel that way. You never have all your tasks done, and if you do you'll find another which prays on your mind as intrusive thoughts of the things undone.

I am sooo Happy that you asked this question ? I have had the same issue for the pst 30 years of my life.

I have spoken to so many people about it. My wife just can not understand what I mean by this.

I always look at sleeping as Final- the end. I hate it so much.

Good luck.

I feel the same way. It's like I'm afraid I'll miss out on something. I don't like waking up though either. My mom says that I've hated sleeping ever since I was a baby.
