I'm plagued with the same problem!! I have been getting bladder infections on and off for about 6 years now. I've had everything done from a urine culture to a sonogram on my kidneys, and all my doctors are mystified( or plain stupid, or they don't want to help me further cuz they know that I don't have insurance!) But I have found that drinking more water and juice and less soda is helpful, and their are certain foods in your diet that you should cut out, too( such as really spicy foods.)Also I take AZO to help relieve the urinary pain and it has been a lifesaver!!(You can buy it over the counter at any grocery store.)

You need to see if you have an anatomic problem... I was going to suggest that you follow through with getting scoped, and looked at from the inside out. They shouldn't hurt, as you will be numbed up, drugged up, etc... and probaby won't remember much.
There could be stones, or malformations that need to be surgically fixed that are causing recurring UTI's.

I know there is a problem where a flap or something inside that is supposed to close doesn't and so urine travels back up the urinary tract and causes frequent infection. Something like that. You can take meds for it or get surgery if you need to. I would definitely do whatever the doc suggests.
