I never really had a strong desire to go because I felt maybe it was just too tourist oriented for me. I finally went to the Big Island and then to Kauai this last March. I am so glad I went. I was going through a very tough time due to the death of the love of my life. Alot of "strange" and pleasant healing things happened to me while I was there. I really would love to go back and explore some more. It truly is a healing place.

Until I read Hawaii by James Michener, I never had a longing to go but ever since, the pull has been strong. I'm not much of a beach/water person (I think I might have drowned in a previous life) but since reading the book, I want to know more about the culture. I want to 'feel' the history.

I went to Maui when I was about 17 or 16 years old. I loved the waves, sights and had a blast. Came back to and I've made a promise. I want to come back to Hawaii to live or have my wedding or ashes spread there. Its beautiful and the people there are calm and they take their time. Life is meant to not rush and just relax.

Yes, every day the last two weeks when it was cooler there than here on the west coast. Can't wait to go back to Kauai!

Yes!
They're saying "Leave the dreary west coast and come here for a few weeks. Relax on the lanai, watch the ocean, and drink mai tais."
