I drink like a fish and smoke like a chimney, but that doesn't suddenly make me a bigot. Not according to everyone who's around me then, anyway.

Does anyone really think the alcohol suddenly triggered his hatred? Or has he always thought that way, and being nailed for DUI just got him caught?

Being an alcoholic isn't going to make him anti-semitic, but, being drunk at the time didn't help out his odds of acting like an *** either...He was drunk, he said stupid sh*t like most drunks do in when they feel confronted (or when they get caught DUI).
He just had good ol' liquid courage coursing through his veins, and a couple of LA's finest to spout his current belief to at the moment, (think about it, you've been cornered in a bar by the local bum drunk, wanting any attention, from anyone.) Mr. Gibson blundered horribly. Do you think all the apologies he's issued will rectify the damage done (if any.)?

I honestly do not know. When you are hugely famous you should be careful what you say. I kinda doubt he meant any of it. Some people when they drink become a complete a$$ho7e. I am Jewish. Peace to you (and Mel).
