The real question is how far past the expiration date is it?
When kept in good conditions, film (which is what the expiry date is referring to) will keep a good while. The time it keeps really depends on the conditions. I'm pretty sure that film can be used up to a couple years past the expiry date when kept up good.
So, to answer your question: Yes. As long as the expiry date isn't like 8 years ago, you should be fine.

the expiration date on film is in regards to the silver halide crystals, which capture light from your image and eventually produce a print.
If the film is not too old, it should be fine, if the film was kept at room temperature. Many pros keep their film in a refrigerator to preserve the silver crystals even longer.
I would not use the film for anything too important; of course, I wouldn't use a disposable camera for anything important, either.
I suggest using it outdoors w/ plenty of light.

It should be okay. I've already bought disposable cameras in a bargin bin that were past their date and the pictures came out fine. I wouldn't use one that is more than a couple of months past, but anything before that should be okay.
