This guys tells me he likes me a lot, takes me out where ever I want to, calls me beautiful, tells me goodnight on occasional, always asks me if I'm thinking of him but won't ask me to be his girlfriend! WHY?! We don't talk every day. He never seems to be hiding anything or lies. He told me once that there's a lot of things he wants to do by himself before he settles down. Like finish college(even though he has a great paying job), and buy a condominium. I've known him for a year. I could have a boyfriend and he doesn't care! We just leave the kissing part out until I'm single again! What's the deal with him? And no we've never slept together before. Any clue as to why a great guy would act like this?

For some reason, girls find guys very appealing when they are a bit a) mysterious, b) relaxed enough in themselves that they don't really NEED to be with them, and c) got their head screwed on straight.
This guy is all 3.
But, take it from a guy, he is doing exactly what he wants to do. He is in no way looking to get serious, and best as I can tell from your question, digs that you appear to be just as "cool" about the relationship. He has already communicated this to you, but like any female who has locked in her target, you aren't listening.
So you either learn to live with it, or get clingy, controlling, and try to "nab" him, and then he'll walk.

Because he has a lot of things to do by himself before he settles down. Like finish college. Stop being selfish. Consider yourself lucky to have a great friend who knows himself well enough to know that he has other priorities besides having a girlfriend and therefore would not be able to give a girlfriend the attention she deserves. Be accepting of his choices and maybe he'll come around.

Because he's the REAL DEAL!!! Keep him or give him to me. His goals are not selfish...he has not said that he doesn't want to settle because he wants to see other people. He's talking about the future and that could include you if you are patient and respectful. Good luck.

Does he dress nice, have good grooming, and maybe want a little foo-foo dog?? Does he talk with a slight lisp maybe, and enjoy watching things like desparate housewives and will and grace?
