I am looking at getting a heavy bag and hanging it from a 7- 7.5 ft ceiling. I am just wondering what else I need to set up the heavy bag. Do I need a swivel? What kind? Do I need to get a chain or something too?

Also, what benefit does a heavier heavy bag have over a lighter one? Thanks.

Its perfect to dangle it from a assisting beam. If it truly isn't any longer attainable, bolt a 2x4 for the era of a minimum of three ceiling joists. then Hook the bag to it. i could go on and on yet, on account that all and sundry in the following is an "specialist" and my answer receives dissed, why could I worry. even despite the indisputable fact that I surely have spent 40 years contained in the carpentry/progression career. someone continuously thinks they comprehend all of it. reliable success!

For a cheap and easy way you need to drill a hook into the celling beam and then buy a chain to lower the bag to your height.

When I set up a heavy bag I normally buy her a couple of drinks and send her home with one of my buddies that needs a slump buster.
