The largest is 450 high and the base covers 12 acres of land

the hanging gardens of Babylon
Built by Nebuchednezzar about 600 BC near present day Baghdad, Iraq.

The temple of Artemus at Ephesus
Built about 550 BC entirely of marble, the foundation measured 377 X 180
feet. It had 160 columns 40 feet high

The statue of Zeus at Olympia, Greece
Sculpted by Phidias about 435BC. It was 40 feet high.

The Mausoleum at Halicanarssus (present day Turkey)
Built about 435 BC of white marble to serve as a tomb for Mausolus.

The colossus at Rhodes
A huge bronze statue that stood near the harbor of Rhodes. It stood 120 feet
high. The Greek sculptor Chares worked on it for 12 years. It was hollow and
he used iron bars to support it. Destroyed by earthquake in 224BC. The iron
was hauled for scrap in 653 AD

The lighthouse of Alexandria
More than 400 feet high it stood on the Island of Pharos. completed about 250 BC by the architect Sostratos. Fire was kept at the top to aid ships in finding the harbor. It stood for almost 1500 years before it was destroyed by earthquake.
