Depends entirely on the cat... they always like to run the show and be in control of the situation. I've had 2 male cats, both would let me pet their bellies for a minute or two, then nip a little, not to hurt but to tell me that was enough. I have a female tabby who likes her belly rubbed a bit more but when she's done she'll just get up, she's never bitten, nibbled, or scratched me.
My brother has two cats also, both entirely opposite. The one would be perfect... 18 lbs with a big fat belly, but he won't let you touch it. The other is a little skinny thing that is an absolute lap cat who will let anybody at all pet his belly or anything else as long as you want... he's a mush.

Aw!! One of mine does the same thing. Or if I reach over and start rubbing his belly, he'll roll over so I can rub it better. Most cats don't like it, but there's always those few.

My cat liked this very much, when he was in the mood. He'd roll over and let me rub his belly scratch his neck etc.
I could also do this thing where I got a bit rough with him, sliding him across the bed or carpet. I called it "Riling him up!" (You have to not mind some minor cat scratchs and bites to play this game.) Then he knew it was PLAYTIME!!!
He'd wrap his arms and legs around my arm and play bite my hand and arm. I'd keep doing this and he'd try disembowling me with his hind legs. He'd then let go run a short distance away, crouch then POUNCE on my arm and start again. He'd then run to another room; meowing real loud as if to show how brave he was. Then he'd come back for more. Eventually he'd be so worked up he'd start tearing through the house like a streak. Up and down the stairs; just anything to run off energy. After that he'd dissapper for several hours and sleep it off.

i have four cats...they all like it if they're in the mood, but one (Gracie) especially loves it. She lays flat on her back so you can rub her tummy....she sits on my husband's lap and he holds her like a baby and just sits there ard rubs her tummy while watching TV. Very funny!

i hold my kitty like a baby and rub her belly... not sure if she likes it or just tolerates it..lol

Haha, sometimes she likes it, but most of the time she attacks my hand...she's just a tad bit ticklish!!! : ) I LOVE HER!
