You have to run an eight minute per mile pace for 12 minutes. If you are in half way decent shape and work at it, it won't be hard. If you are overweight, a smoker, or just out of shape...you better get training! Good highschool milers are running 4.25 pace. A good pace for a 6.2 mile race for someone in their 30s would be a 6.30 to 6.45 pace....you need to do an 8 pace. Not hard necessarily...but not easy if you haven't kept yourself in shape...

You have to run 8 minute miles or 4 minutes for every 1/2 mile. In other words you need to practice running everyday to build up to this. Fortunately this is a slow pace so you should not have any trouble unless you have health issues.

If you are running it on a track then it is going to be 6 laps. In order to complete it in 12 minutes you have to complete each lap in 2 minutes or less.
