A visa quota has been established for foreigners seeking to immigrate to the US legally. Every year, one million visas is granted to those that have been waiting for years. It takes averagely eight years to get a visa for immigrating. Giving total amnesty to most of them would be unjust to those that follow the legal way. Illegals are just bargainers who think that they can change the rules of the game whenever necessary.

USUALLY, THOSE WHO MAKE THE RULES WILL WIN THE GAME.

Ya know...it really doesn't matter. According to the PEW Hispanic research center the majority of illegals (from Mexico) don't want amnesty, they do not want to assimilate, they have no intention of learning the language. But...you are correct in that it diminishes the efforts made by those people of other nations that wish to enter America legally. Not to mention...the mere thought of Amnesty has created a desire for many still in Mexico and serves only to bolster the attempts to cross the desert. Which inevitably means more unnecessary deaths.

Yes. It does. It erases any chance that immigration visas will be granted for those waiting to immigrate. The reason it takes 8 years as it is is because the US does not need a bunch of unskilled laborers. We have a bunch of illegals filling those positions. If we were to deport the illegals, you can bet the immigration visas would flood to those unskilled applicants who have filed legal applications and have been waiting. We would need them in a rush to fill those jobs, and we would have to pay them legal wages.

Only one problem with your argument!

More than 1 judge denies amnesty 96% of the time. In fact there is a furor going on about this right now and several judges are under investigation by the Justice Department!

Your likelihood of getting amnesty just isn't very good and the impact is about Zero!!

I think it does hurt the people who, in their former home country, properly applied for the visas, came here, filled out the proper paperwork, took the classes they need to take and do whatever else they need to do to become legal residents or naturalized citizens. If we went to another country and demanded the same rights that illegals get here, we'd either be laughed at and starve or packed on a plane so fast our heads would spin.

Yes and no. It hurts because the illegals are factored in to the numbers that set by immigration and no because the illegals generally are hired under the table.

Hard work is what makes you an American. Expecting everything to simply be handed to you when you get here is not what this country was founded off of. Work for the good things in life, and you will get them. Whine and cry over how unfair it is that you can't have things the way you want them and you have not really gotten it.

I fully agree with you. Illegals should be given no breaks. They broke the law and now need to get in line LEGALLY in order to immigrate here to the US!! They are an albatross to our economy, not contributors.

Chow!!

People who are waiting in line are doing so to become good citizens. The others have no desire to be. They are just here for all the freebies. When all of our resources are used up catering to the line jumpers, there will be nothing left for the waiters or us either.

its totally hurting us. we are legal, we are professionals, we are hired to do high tech jobs and the illegals are hurting us.
its a lose lose situation, while it takes an illegal 9 minutes to walk across the border, it takes us 9 months for the visa process. such is the world today.

Those who go the legal way spend a lot of money and effort to keep it that way. To give it easy to illegals demoralizes those who followed law
