Because some days it is just plain difficult to sift through all the rubbish and find the well-meaning and thoughtful gems actually worth responding to.
Today is obviously not one of those days for me. :)

Do you mean answer the question with a demeaning answer?
I sometimes do that if the answer is obvious or the "asker" is totally without a clue and a 3 year old could figure it out.
