I have heard that if you get your head massaged for 5 to 10 minutes everyday it helps your hair grow faster is that true???

It won't help it grow faster lengthwise, if that's what you mean. You may grow balder though. Massaging your head may cause damage to your hair both at the follicle's tips and roots. In less you have a headache or an itch, I would recommend not doing this.
