You'll be a little thinner, and a little more muscular. (Keep in mind, you can only improve so much in twelve weeks.) You'll be in good aerobic shape from all the marching (and other physical activity). You'll be in good shape to continue improving if you can stay motivated and continue to work out during AIT...and, hopefully, when you're assigned a duty station as well.

That depends on how hard you work. Typically, you'll lose weight and build muscle. In order to have a cut physique though, you have to keep up the hard work after Basic ends: something that most people fail to do.

In short, the majority of the exercises you will do in Basic Training will make you stronger, but are not meant to improve your physique.

It depends on how you look prior to basic. I went in at 5'2" and 110 lbs and I got out at 105lbs and the only real difference you could notice was smaller boobs...no joke. all the girls get smaller! but it all comes back in tech school. Basic training isn't all about working out. Mostly you'll work up stamina and learn how to stay awake during really boring power point lectures.

I was out of shape and old (28) when I went to Basic Training. I lost six inches off my waist and actually gained thirty pounds. I haven't looked as good since.

Depends on what branch of the military you are joining. USMC and USA, there will be a lot of physical training (pt). USN and USAF, do not pt as much as the other two.
