Jehovah's Witnesses welcome a respectful examination of their beliefs. Their publications are offered at no charge, and many of them are freely available on the internet:

If the worst thing that can be said about a religious group is that they "try so hard to convert people" then that is a high compliment. Their purpose in preaching, however, is love for God and neighbor rather than some ambitious desire for "converts". In fact, the qualifications are quite serious before one can become baptized as a Witness. Also, Jehovah's Witnesses understand quite clearly the Scriptural indication about guessing at a date for the Day of Jehovah:
(Mark 13:32) Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father.
If there are a few details which trouble a bible student who is otherwise drawn to Jehovah's Witnesses, please consider studying the bible with them or at least attend their free meetings. In time you may feel about Jehovah's Witnesses as Peter did about Christ:
(John 6:68) Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life.

WATCH OUT, they use a bad bible translation and site John 1:1 and John 1:18 in particular. This passage has been mistranslated since the 4th century at least to intend the existence of multiple god's. This would have been ridiculous to the people who wrote the book. John 1:1-4 is a definition of God as Trinity to use in interpretation of the rest of the book (John). Really bible translation ignore translation including "a god" or "the divine" as translation of 1:1, because they are ridiculous.
Addition: Using 1:1-4 as a definition of the trinity, you will see that the book is describing God. While it is simple really to understand, we cannot fully grasp the concept. Think of it like a well in the woods. It is obviously a well, but no matter what you do, you cannot tell how deep it is, or what it looks like below the surface.
Addition 2: OK, you basically required to be loyal to your government, "Give to ceasar what is ceasars, ..." and If they press you to go a mile go two miles (this section is about helping the military). Get it? Good advice...

I agree with some of the things they teach. But I don't agree with some of these posters here who say that JW's don't believe they're the only ones going to heaven or who will be saved. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that they alone are doing the will of God and that if you want to be saved you must "associate" with the Watchtower organization. If a JW tells you otherwise, he is employing tact until you are indoctrinated enough to accept that belief.
Technically they aren't actually lying because they believe that that ANYONE can be saved, IF that person becomes a Jehovah's Witness first. In their eyes, Mother Theresa herself would have been destroyed at Armageddon if she hadn't died already....I'm not exaggerating and any Witness reading this knows it's the truth. But it wouldn't be politically correct for them to tell you that up front, so they would try to say something tactful like "Well, it's not for us to judge" but if you attend their meetings, you'll find out pretty quickly for yourself if you haven't already.
As far as they're concerned, belief in Jesus-although necessary- means nothing if it isn't accompanied by belief in "the faithful and discreet slave", namely the imperfect men who run the Watchtower Society.
This is a direct quotation from a WT book:
"What a thrilling moment it will be when, during the coming "great tribulation" on this present system of things, the authentic news comes from all around the earth that the antitypical Jerusalem, Christendom, has fallen at the hands of Jehovah's executional forces! This will be a vindication of the modern-day Ezekiel class {JW's}, to authenticate that they have not been a false prophet..." (End of quote). Interestingly, this same book states (on page 216) that this will happen "within our twentieth century

Yes, I believe the things the Jehovah's Witnesses believe but I do disagree with you on one though. They DO NOT think they are the ONLY people to get to go to heaven. What they do believe is that they by living the way Christ commanded and taught will inherit the earth and live forever after Jesus returns. If you read the Bible and believe it states that no human has ever entered the kingdom of heaven. It is our heritage as such to inherit the earth when it becomes a paradise, that is if you follow what Christ taught .

Not celebrating holidays is a standard and conviction.. NOT doctrine. The J.W's are way off on doctrine (they are NOT Jehovah's Witnesses either, they are J.W's. The Bible calls those who are professing another "christ" ... antichrists. Though they profess Him, it is NOT the same Jesus Christ of the Bible. No where close. As well as the Bible says to let them be accursed!! Any JW's out there reading this do NOT trust what you are taught by MAN, trust what the BIBLE says, and compare verses with other verses. Step back and examine your faith and MAKE SURE you are right! It is what the Bible said...not me.

We do not think we are the only people that will go to heaven for starters. There are so many lies and falsehoods spread about what we believe in because satans job is to lie and confuse and to distort truth. And there are Witnesses that do mislead, just like in any religion there are those who are doing their OWN will for their OWN gain. But your desire to know the truth is your key to learning the truth. I would be glad to talk with you and BIBLICALLY answer any questions you may have. I do not have ALL the answers your going to ask(but God does) and that's why you need to read and study the Bible also. God will reveal the truths to you as your heart matures. There's so much waiting for you if you truley want to seek His will. You can email me at my email on yahoo.

The plege I agree on. Your allegiance should only be to God.
There are MANY MANY places that Jesus talks about being God. He says that I and my father are one. I am not looking up verses for you though because you can do that online.
Holidays? Yeah, Santa and the Bunny are silly. :)
They have most everything wrong though and are in no way shape or form going to heaven.

I don't believe anything they say b/c I'm a believer in Christ and some of the things they teach are against God.For example they believe they will go to heaven by their works (going door to door selling their booklets) John 3-16 For God so loved the word He gave His only son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Anywhere in that do you see the only way to heaven is going door to door sellin booklets. Make sure you read what the true words of God say.!!!!

They are way off on a lot of things - learn straight from the Bible from someone who could read the Bible in its original form:
Check out http://www.johnfourteen.com from John 14 in the Bible
Look at "Studies in the Bible" and "Lessons from the Pulpit"
many answers to everyday life can be found there.

I don't agree with anything. I don't see the point in not celebrating holidays, Jesus is a myth so you can celebrate him or not celebrate him in any way you choose and whether you say the pledge of allegiance or not doesn't really matter.
