Mmmaaannnnyyyy variables to this equation.

The key however, is balance. A bit of diet, a bit of exercise. If anybody says Cut all the carbs.. Don't just cut out one thing completely, your body will hate you - maybe reduce, but don't cut out something all together :)

The answers to your questions all depends on your height, current weight, and many other issues. A 13 yr old should really talk with their doctor to get the correct answer.

YOUR IDEAL WEIGHT: But if you insist on trying it yourself, go to google and type in "ideal weight" There will be calculators showing what your ideal weight typically is. Make sure you find one that asks for your age.. and that you're able to plug in your age of 13.

YOUR CALORIE INTAKE: Also go online and type in "calorie intake calculator" I input 13 yrs old, 5', 110 lbs. I haven't the foggiest where you're at. It says your calorie intake should probably be around 1400. This sounds about right to me. If you were 150 lbs, it says about 1700 calories.

RIDING A BIKE: YOUR CALORIES BURNED: Riding a bike for one mile will hardly do anything. I rode 2.5 miles in 10 minutes tonight. 1 mile would be.. what.. 4 minute or so? So unfortunately, that's hardly a workout :)

I would work on how LONG you ride - as in time duration. I would suggest biking for at least 45 minutes to really have a decent effect. Start off easy.. enjoy it. At least three times a week. If you only do 25 minutes, your body will actually start to get used to the routine and start to shut down when you hit 10 minutes.

And hydrate yourself before you start biking.. about an hour before you start biking... drink a glass or two of water. - and of course bring some with in a bottle for the bike ride.

And biking on a real bike .. you use more muscles and energy.. keeping balanced, etc. vs. one of those stationary bikes in a gym.

Summary? I'd watch the calorie intake.. Don't starve yourself, but see where you're at now.. either keep the calorie intake right where it's at and do 45 minutes of biking every other day - and push yourself.. don't just stick at 10 mph. Get a spedometer for your bike and increase the speed week by week by 1 mph. until you're at least at 15 mph average speed.

Or lessen your calorie intake, but not by much.

Losing weight isn't an overnight thing. That's the sucky part.. we seem to gain it in 15 minutes, but it takes a month to get it back off.

Jenny Craig thing.. they do a point system. 1 pt for let's say every 10 calories. .. so an apple is so many points and a pb and j sandwich is another so many points.. and you get so many points a day to work with. This works well, you start to figure out how many points everything is worth. Makes a lot of sense. :)

WATCH YOUR FAT CONTENT. Say, total calories 100, fat from calories should be 30 or less. Saturated and Trans fats should be 1/3 of total fats. Satrd. and Trans are the bad fats.. other fats are good. Don't cut out all fat.. it's not good for you. But don't saturate your body with bad fats either :)

Email if you get stuck or have questions.

But seriously., I'd talk to the family doctor. Usually you can call and ask to talk to the nurse for free if you have simple questions.

I have noticed no less than six mistakes on this brief paragraph which; to me, says you have got to spend tremendously extra time studying earlier than hanging in combination a portfolio. If a authentic editor is what you desire to emerge as then you definitely have got to be extra conscientious approximately setting up robust modifying knowledge. And to be sincere, I would not dare use some thing I've edited on Wattpad or Worthy of Publishing in a portfolio.

13 is too young to be stressing about weight and calories. You've got your whole life to worry about that. Enjoy your youth and try to be carefree.
